I thought that too Joey.

Basically, im thinking it is going to a have horror movie slash n dash style theme centralising around a cleverly prsychotic guy called dylan who strikes on the 13th of the month? (Albeit not that clever, the pattern is a giveaway for the serial killer) Or he has killed 12 and is looking for his 13th?

And where is it all based, a freaky old derelict saw-mill in the creek....

Well that is what viral marketing is all about though Erol. It is cheap and effective and normally looks like it is shot on a budget camera. It can often have the same effect that a multi-million quidage campaign does, just without the massive costing. They can save the money for the real marketing when the ride is opening....

i find it a bit strange how now everyone is now looking forward to the new ride, compared to the start of the topic!

i dont believe these are actually official videos =[

just look at all the vids in the youtube channel, theres one called fat running, which is two people who work at the park just messin around (not exactly what you would expect as official, not exactly professional)

plus all the vids can easyily be made with almost any video editing software, access to the park, and vids that can be found in places like thorpe park mania and thorpe park guide etc..

i think this is just a load of bull, made by some people working at the park, who is having every1 on.

plus the "official mini site" is not made by the park, its made by thorpe park mania fan site

thats what i think anyway, never know i could be wrong,

It was probally an idea in a meeting to have a story and staff offered to do it free of charge or whatever I just like the fact there doing something thats all a bit of fun.

Viral Marketing, no matter how poor it's done, gets peopel talking.

Well, usually, but ...for a theme park ride?

I'm actually baffled WHO other than enthusiasts is looking at this or cares.

Say you're just some randomer who went to Thorpe Park yesterday. So you search "Thorpe Park" on YouTube to show your mates what you went on? I dunno...

Nothing on the first page about the '09 coaster to get them to go back next year.

Second page you get FAN made stuff.

Third, nothing.

And no one posting in the actual video sounds like they are not an enthusiast, of some degree.

What about MySpace?

Not on their front page - you have to click more videos.

:|

WHO other than us, gives a damn?

In other news, CF is ThorpePark's second top friend. ;]

Re: "Unknown" - Eurofighter for Thorpe Park

Eurofighters aren't that bad, it will no doubt be a good ride and a great addition to Canada Creek. Also upon looking through various websites I have picked up little bits of information; You have to be 16+ to ride due to strong horror theme throughout the ride (RUMOUR) and also it is going to be called "Dylan". Oooo scary.

Your probalbly right, if you had too be 16+, they must be showing some sick ****!

^Not only that, they would have closed the ride to about 40-60% of the target audience, and there would be a lot of fuzz every time someone tried to trespass, and the security guards are called upon. It would be some of the most idiotic things ever done by a park.

^ This is also true when Eurofighters have a lower height limit, i think its around 1.2m.

Well going there today made me think the site for the ride is a lot smaller. But with Samurai in the way its hard to get a real scale.
But only the station and a few footers have been poured now.

Yeah, it's really not that big when you see it in person, and once the station and everything is complete there won't be much room left I'd imagine.

Once you get onto the new island, will it just be a small entrance plaza to the ride, or will there be more? (Omitting the queueline of course)

Not necessarily. Take Raiders of the lost arc for example. It rated PG yet loads of mummy dead people come out of thier coffins, some guy gets splatted by propellers, peoples faces melt and some guy gets impalied by loaded of spikes!

Yet In some 18 horror movies its not really that bad.

And to top it all off the age limit is pretty much a load of crap. I've only seen age limits on bungie ball rides but as long as you have an adult your fine.
