Rollercoaster Set For Re-Opening.

I noticed Bling has been closed the last few weeks I have been. They tested it, stopped it, climbed to the top of it, did some weird inspection, climbed back down, tested it another time then covered it up again. What is wrong with it?

I have no idea, but when it did open last weekend, it wasnt running how its supposed to, so they closed it again and its been closed since.

No idea if Rollercoaster will be open at weekends, but for the time being its open on weekdays and running very well according to people who have been on it since the re-opening.

So as it can operate, why has it been closed so far this year?

How odd for a ride to not operate on weekends?!

Its good that its re-opened, but the situation is a bit iffy to me...

See all this makes me laugh, the other day someone posted an interview with Amanda on how she wants to promote the industry again etc and they have rides that could open but they wont open them.

Maybe the trains are doing damage so they are limiting the running of it?

It is either a cost issue or somethings up with it or they just being lazy and backwards.

Pleasure Beach have never actually given a reason to why it has been closed, and I doubt they'll give a reason if it closes again at the end of the month. It may be frustrating, but thats sadly the way PBB work, nobody knew at the time that The Whip, Turtle Chase, Vikingar and the Cableway were going to close, one day they closed and were eventually removed.

The odd thing is, while Bling was closed, Goldmine was open, but now Rollercoaster has re-opened, Goldmine has been closed again.

I really have no idea what the thinking is behind Rollercoaster and Goldmine, but I really hope they are both open through the summer months.

Yesterday Bling and Rollercoaster were open and working fine all day. As was the Goldmine. But Big Dipper is closed for maintenance work (the workers were climbing the structure and it is expected to be closed over the weekend.

I know this may sound really stupid, but could they be having power problems? and maybe thats why they can not open all the rides at the same time.

^ That could possibly be a reason, but probably unlikely. RC wouldn't use too much energy really, where as the other two would use loads.

But that could be a small possibilty.

Bling has its special power box thing to give it the power it needs with out triping the safety. RC wouldnt use alot and gold mine not sure on that.

RC doesn't need that much power. Aside from the lift hill chain and the trim breaks there is nothing much but gravity controlling the ride. Bling and Golsmine are both manually controlled. Goldmine is a powered coaster so it probably uses quite a large amount of power. I was pleased to notice that ALL of the special effects were working fine on Valhalla on Thursday even the lighting. I doubt its anything to do with power problems. More likely the rides need more maintining as the park opens so early to the public so they take it in turns to open and close different rides. For example Rollercoaster was opn in February when the Nast was closed for maintaining. Rollercoaster closed when the Nash re-opened then opened again when the Big Dipper closed. Its a similar story with the Goldmine, it re-opened when Bling was closed then it closed when Bling re-opened.

For once, CK has got it pretty much spot on.

Goldmine was only open because of Bling's downtime.

Rollercoaster is open during weekdays to cover the loss of Big Dipper, which is having work done Monday to Friday, but at the weekend its open, so Rollercoaster is closed.

It would be great to see all the coasters running in the summer months, but its very unlikely and its likely that Space Invader wont be re-opening.

Oh :(

SI is such a neat little ride, I will miss it, along with RC.

It sounds to me as if the PB are just being tight arse's and not wanting to pay for every ride to be open.

Not sure its that Martyn, I just think it comes down to Pleasure Beach struggling and holding back.

I am pretty sure if money was fine, that Forbidden and Hot Ice would still be on, but they have been cancelled for this year and for Amanda to cancel shows, means that they arent being tight arses, they really need to cut back a bit and cover there backs.

As for Space Invader, I am told that it'll be removed in the winter, and that includes the whole building.

Beaver Creek is set for a re-theme too.

Lets hope someting good is put in SI area though SI is decent but must have come to the end of its time now. What ever they do it usualy is good going off the past.

That would be great for kids, but could mean the price goes up and they are still taking away grown up rides.

Rollercoaster is expected to make a return for the full season next year. I have no idea if it will be open again this year though, tbh I dont think many people know.

Not sure about Goldmine either.
