Rank the Hersheypark coasters

Hi guys. We already have ranking topics for some of the big American heavyweights like Cedar Point and SFMM, but another big coaster park in America is Hersheypark in Pennsylvania. With 14 coasters in total, the park is home to one of America’s biggest coaster selections, and with rides like Skyrush, Storm Runner, Fahrenheit and Candymonium, amongst others, it must be one of America’s most respected, as well! So I’d be keen to know; if you’ve been to Hersheypark, how would you rank their roller coasters?

I’ve never been to Hersheypark, so can’t contribute, but if you’ve been, how would you rank Hershey’s coaster selection?

This is probably what I would say, except:
  • Not done Candymonium, but expect that placement would be about right
  • Anything after #10 just fall into the 'turd' pile.

Oooooh, list topics <3 ....Let me go be controversial. I've not ridden Candymonium yet but I do have the old Roller Soaker credit,

1 Storm Runner - <3 for sure my favorite ride in the park and was a top 10 steel coaster for me back in like 2005. It was supposed to be my 300th but because I had missed a few credits leading up to it on that trip (Kingda Ka was closed, Batman side of Chiller was closed, Pocono Lightning was closed,
Keansburg Wildcat was closed...) it was my 299th (and this bad boy became my 300th the next day https://rcdb.com/404.htm )
2 Skyrush - Wish I could have ridden it before they slowed the lift down but its an extremely fun ride for a layout that's basically Rita, with a lifthill.
3 Sooperdooperlooper - <3 classic looper, haven't done it with the new trains yet tho'
4 Lightning Racer - Fun, good racing, maybe someday I'll see the waterfall turned on...Does it even have the waterfall anymore??
5 Great Bear - fun ride but it has days where it runs better than others.
6 Comet - Fun ride but always has a long line for some reason.
7 Wild Mouse - Basic mouse
8 Roller Soaker - Not as good as Flying Super Saturator but still a fun ride but slow loading.
9 Jolly Rancher Remix - Only ridden it with the original trains, it's a boomerang.
10 Laff Trakk - Swing and a miss? MS spinners can be super fun and with the theming and everything this one could be great but it was sooooo MEH and didn't really spin (???)
11 Fahrenheit - 💩, not sorry. Went for its opening season and after a horribly long wait, the ride was disappointing. Slow, rough, meehhh. I gave it a second try a few years later and was still underwhelmed
12 Trailblazer - Second most boring Mine Train ever (only ranking better than the one at Carowinds)
13 Wildcat - Hated it. Hated it for being ultra rough with the PTC trains, hated it for be super slow/laggy with the GCI trains.

'14' Cocoa Cruiser - non-stand out kiddie coasters shouldn't really be rated.
 
This was the extent of my Pennsylvania list at the time you did that poll, but obviously some others have been added now.

I'd put Wildcat's Revenge at #2. Really fun coaster but it's not very re-rideable at full speed. It runs at its best when its cold out.

Shift Sidewinder up a few notches as Jolly Rancher Remix. I love the Jolly Rancher theme, even if it is a bit minimal. The Christmas overlay is really fun too. I didn't get to ride it with the Halloween overlay. Night rides are a blast on this with the lighting and sound effects. In the past, I'd skip it, but nowadays, I'd make it a higher priority.
 
I visited Hersheypark in 2014 and 2023.

1. Wildcat's Revenge - Absolutely brilliant. Loved the harsh lateral moments in particular. My 2nd favourite RMC behind Steel Vengeance, and my #6 overall.
2. Skyrush - Finally learnt a way I could ride it comfortably in 2023, and then they go and change the restraints hah.
3. Candymonium - Feels kinda short with how it fizzles out at the end, but the airtime in the first two-thirds of the ride is top-class flojector.
4. Storm Runner - Wasn't as hot on this in 2023 as I was in 2014; I think launch coasters have just come a long way since. Still pretty great though.
5. Great Bear - This seems like the least-loved old-school invert, but it still gives an old-school experience of raw intensity.
6. Fahrenheit - It has some pretty forceful/snappy moments and also some weaker moments. Would definitely appreciate lap-bars on this.
7. Lightning Racer - It's a pretty long woodie with decent pacing, but lacks bite, oomph, airtime etc.
8. Comet - It's a decent classic woodie, but has never really stood out to me in any way. Might be because I only rode it once on each visit.
9. Wildcat - I didn't find it too rough in 2014, but as with other pre-Thunderhead GCIs, it didn't have a lot of substance.
10. Sooperdooperlooper - the loop is good; the rest of the ride is fairly uninteresting meandering, albeit smooth.
11. Sidewinder - not ridden it as Jolly Rancher Remix, as Hershey's 2023 coaster line-up was too good to justify re-riding even a decent boomerang.
12. Laff Trakk - Heavily trimmed, barely spun, theming was meh.
13. Wild Mouse - Only rode it in 2014, and don't really remember it. Maybe it's better than Laff Trakk
14. Trailblazer - Probably my least-favourite Arrow mine train. I remember thinking it was very uninspired.

Despite having spent multiple days on-park, I'm yet to ride Cocoa Cruiser. I'm certainly not 'above' riding junior coasters, but I guess there just never seemed like a good time to get this cred 🤷‍♂️

Usually I'm not the biggest RMC fan, but I absolutely fell in love with Wildcat's Revenge. It has an aggression to its element shaping that's unmatched by any other RMC. At the other end of the list, Trailblazer was not only pointless, but also painful. It's incredible how much it manages to slam you around, given how slowly it plods through its elements.
