Photos from abandoned theme parks

^ Nice shots. I've noticed that I feel more melancholy looking at pictures of abandoned mom-and-pop type local parks than I do when looking at pictures from much larger abandoned parks.

The remnants of Wonderland in Beijing are being demolished. Whilst there's no confirmed plan for the land, rumours suggest that it will be replaced by a shopping centre.

Wow these pictures are actually rather depressing.
Yeah, the smog really adds to the atmosphere.

I don't know what it is but there is something about looking at these old pictures that is almost frightening, I can imagine the screams, the joy...the happiness experienced within the confines. I imagine Thorpe Park or Alton Towers like this and feel slightly weak, one of the pictures showed an old ferris wheel with a tree having grown right up through the middle of it. Truly outstanding.

^Reading through some of the comments, it seems to actually be a traveling fairground that's only really operational at night, not getting peak numbers until around midnight and running right through to the early morning. That would make sense with the clothes drying and people just hanging around sleeping during the day.

Geauga Lake from one of those drone 'copter thingies;

Dipper still standing, not a lot else though.
Flight goes as far over as the footers for the SLC then comes back along the lake.

Theres a picture on the wall at work which reminded me of this picture I had seen a while ago from the abandoned "Gullivers Kingdom" park near Mt Fuji (now all gone which is a shame as it looked super spooky). I don't think it had been posted here before so;

I miss American Adventure!

I'm from only a 10 minute drive from there and visited throughout my entire childhood. There are lots of pleasant memories for me there.

^ There is! You can pretty much just walk into it as it's turned into a sort of waste land dog walking area.
