Re: Phantasialand | Chiapas?| "Water Ride"

The picture makes the park look tiny, but it feels huge when there.

Re: Phantasialand | Chiapas?| "Water Ride"

The park feels huge?
Hmmm .... they own 70 acres yet the park itself is on 24 acres.
Alton Towers is 500 acres.

I guess the park feels bigger as it's a pure jungle of concrete and fake rocks yet I would never consider it to feel huge lol

Re: Phantasialand | Chiapas?| "Water Ride"

They are putting in a whole forest of plants. This is going to look incredible when finished...

Maybe that's the idea?

Oh and it is so far from ready. Considering there are like 3 buildings that still need to go up, the lift hill area that goes through the Michael Jackson cred isn't ready and none of the lift hills have their belts in place. So close yet so very far. July/August opening imo.

Re: Phantasialand | Chiapas?| "Water Ride"

I think all that can be said after seeing these pictures is, "Hey Alton, you know you're planning on replacing The Flume? Well..." Seriously this thing looks amazing, you know you are going to get a good ride when the layout is so abstract and hidden by what looks to be awesome theming! Can't wait to see how it turns out, that airtime hill looks so good!

Re: Phantasialand | Chiapas?| "Water Ride"

I think what people dont realize is that beneath the section shown in the picture theres like a 50 foot deep hole digged out with 2 hidden drops, one forwards one backwards, so theres gonna be a massive underground section. The drop also goes down about 40-50 feet deeper than street level.

you can see here on how many levels this ride is build

Re: Phantasialand | Chiapas?| "Water Ride"

I love seeing pictures from earlier in the construction of this, it just shows how much they've actually done. Btw I think it's time I post a whole load of images again from those awesome peeps over at Phantasialand-fans.de

They've started putting roofs on one of the buildings coming out of the rock wall. But I like this picture because it shows how big that tower is in comparison to the dudes standing in it.

Stairs and paving are going in around the hill area. I don't know if it's the angle of the photos but that looks like a potential soak zone?

The lift hill that runs through the tangled mess of the Michael Jackson cred has had a chain installed. This intrigues me, we really aren't going to be seeing traditional log flume boats are we?

In one of the other areas where the boats will meander around the tangled coaster they appear to be putting lots of wood over it, not sure if this is going to be a permanent thing or not because to me it looks like its for construction purposes but I get the feeling I'm wrong.

The below photo made me lol. I love how there is a guy just standing up on the top rocks just chilling out and overlooking the park.

More ageing effects have been applied to the aztec temple.

So excited to see this all finished off <3

Re: Phantasialand | Chiapas?| "Water Ride"

The wood over the trough will be a simple case of a crossover point for construction purposes.

I've got the feeling the boats will be similar to the Intamin 8/6 seated boats. Much like Valhalla. The thing that gets me is, this isn't actually a log flume in my opinion. I don't consider Valhalla a log flume, nor do I consider Tidal Wave. Log flume's are just a trough, with a meandering path, a drop or two with the passengers sat in a procession style.

Re: Phantasialand | Chiapas?| "Water Ride"

I think this is more a Mexican Splash Mountain than Valhalla though? And although I see what you mean I class Splash mountain a log flume.

There were a few more comments on that forum, seems like those boards could be permanent (there is actually a high gap between the boat and the boards).

Re: Phantasialand | Chiapas?| "Water Ride"

Holy crap.

I've wanted to get to Phantasialand since before Black Mamba. Now I really see how amazing this park's theming is.
