"Now Showing"

^Ha. Waiting times over here are bad. With stories appearing in the news of people being left on their beds in hospital corridors for days without treatment and stuff. :p

I probably will one day!
*Cough* ;)

American Beauty.

I dunno if I posted about how amazing this film is the last time I watched it, but I seriously adore it. I'll only watched it about a month ago, but ever since I've meant to watch it again.

I really love it for two reasons:

1. It's basically Desperate Housewives - The Movie
2. The opening! "This is me, jerkin' off in the shower, this'll be the highlight of my day, it's all downhill from here". If that's not a mouthful for so many men, I don't know what is. That's what's great about the movie, it's so... real. Helped enormously by spectacular performances and a great script.

And the music <3.

It has to sit as one of my top ten films.

10/10.

And NO, it isn't actually as good as Pulp Fiction, or the Rocky Horror Show for that matter. AND I prefer Reservoir Dogs. BUT IT'S STILL GETTING A TEN SO BITE ME.

The Happening

Umm, was I the only one who noticed a big resemblance with this movie and The Mist? Something unexplained happens, and then the rest of the movie generally continue along the same path. I thought they were going to end the same too, and I would've been pissed if they did,

It was okay overall. My dad hated it, and I thought it was just okay. Nothing mind blowing, and they definitely made it look better in the previews.

6.6/10

The Happening just seems like it's gunna be another craptastic movie with an expected 'unexpected twist' from ol' Shamylamylan. Everything that he has made since Sixth Sense has been utter ****e.

Started to watch Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. It's awesome so far.

And I totally agree with Ben bout American Beauty, it's an absolute must see film for EVERYONE. So go rent it. Now.

I agree, buy it now or be faceplanted.

"I bought my all time favourite car, I rule!"

Gotta love Kevin Spacey in that film.

It's an excellent film, especially for a debut director, although it is just a teensy bit pretentious at times - and I haven't seen the uncut version yet.

Just got back from The Happening. He's taking the piss, right? Shyamalan meant that as some sort of un-funny comedy yes? It's RUBBISH! Utter, utter, ****ing ****. One of the worst pieces of film-making I've ever seen, christ even Uwe Boll could do better.

I'd rather stick spoons in my eyes than watch that idiotic tripe again. Oh wait, Shyamallama just did.

Save yourself the wasted 2 hours and avoid like a rabid rottweiller. -50/10

^Well, coincidently. ;)

The twist is that it doesn't have a twist.

Slayed, my dad would totally agree with you. He was like, upset about the movie the entire way home.

Last night I saw Gangs of New York, starring Daniel Day-Lewis, Leonardo DiCaprio and Cameron Diaz.

Directed by Martin Scorsese, it's set in the mid-1800s, and loads of Irish immigrants are entering NY. After his dad is killed by Bill the Butcher, Amsterdam Vallon is taken to an orphanage, and then returns to NY 16 years later, to get revenge on him.

The opening scenes were fantastic, and throughout the film, loads of different events happen that keep me really interested and entertained. Daniel Day-Lewis was faultless again, and Leo and Cameron did decent jobs of their roles too. The ending was pretty something too.

I'd say 8 maybe 9/10.

Should've known better.

Worst pile of <img> i've seen since "Iron Meh"

Is there any movie you do like or is every movie produced in the last two years complete ****?

Rarely. I see a lot of films before they come out in the cinema for free. So therefor i get to experience all kinds of movies and am less easily impressed than some people.

So far this year i liked rambo 4 for the cheesiness, and cloverfield was alright too... Hell I didnt even mind "dont mess with the zohan".

But this film sucks balls.

You know a film is in trouble when even the trailer is terrible!

But dont just take my word for it.. lets have a look at some reviews:

Un****ingbelievably unspeakably awful. THE LOVE GURU is astonishingly rancid. There's a part of me, that wants THE LOVE GURU to make like 75 Million opening weekend. Why? So that the entire - giant film going audience marks Mike Myers' death as a comedian.

More painful than sitting next to an Austin Powers impersonator during a 12-hour flight.

etc etc

But it DOES have ONE saving grace:

Oo.. I wasn't talking about Love Guru.. I agree, it sucks as do most comedies these days. But, I am curious my smelly friend.. what are your favorite movies?

PS: Alba.. wow. Makes FF:Silver Surfer worth it.

Hmm, Jessica *droool*.

Just got back from seeing Gone Baby Gone - Ben Affleck directing his brother in a serious tale of child abduction. I'm impressed, very solid film, nicely handled and acted (although Casey Affleck still tends not to react much), and with a really strong flavour of Boston running through it. Even when the plot gets a little unlikely the film copes with it well, and strives to make you think. 8/10.

Saw The Happening today and boy was it so extremely ****. The acting in it was awful, the story is stupid and the whole film is just pure crap.

I say 4/10.
