New Amusment Park For Orlando?

^I'm equally shocked. I read this on Screamscape a few days ago, but didn't believe it could possibly be true so didn't mention it here.

Reddude, due to the use of ",but," and "..." plus Ben's general tendency to use ample negativity and/or sarcasm it's safe to say he was being somewhat.........

dead serious.

With that out of the way, this would be a great opportunity for a Cedar Fair and Six Flags park to be built.

Well no, they'd just be built near the area just like Busch Gardens and the new Legoland. Well, at least one of them could be built there.

Neither Cedar fair or Six Flags will build a park in Florida in the foreseable future, they both have their reasons but im guessing its simply not their target audience adding to the fact the costs for the initial outlay of building a park from scratch would cripple them and would damage their ability to invest in their current parks.

^Yeah, at this time I don't see either company as investing in a new park due to the current economic situation and the fact that both have been expanding in their respective parks recently (although Cedar Fair hasn't built any coasters recently, someone please correct me if I'm wrong because I'm not sure). Still would say neither has a plan for an Orlando park soon.

I don't know if anyone has mentioned this but... they said that there will be an inverted accelorator coaster that is 425ft in height!!!!
This sounds like quite the park.

Sorry, I feel like rubbing it in.

If anyone hears anything else about this park (let's face it, it's extremely doubtful), then let me know.

Until then:

LOCKED.

Sigh, time to unlock the topic. For now at least.

Surprise… according to the latest local news report the Orlando Thrill Park proposal is back and will be put in front of the city council on Monday. While it was initially voted down back in April, it seems that the city had reached a new zoning agreement for the property earlier this month that would allow the compact amusement park project to proceed once again.

Go on then, continue with the bollocks!

Not much to discuss. I wonder if they will keep the same propsed rides, coaster, etc.?

Anyone know the zoning law for what the highest height a structure can be in the area?

Nope, but I re-setup my Google alert for this topic. Should be interesting to see if anything come of it.

And Gavin, I love how reluctant you were to unlock and bump this topic :)
