No restaurant should make you go to a till to order your food </3

That's exactly what my boss was moaning about, and if you want another drink apparently you have to go to the till, same with a dessert.

Not sure about dessert, but with drinks they just give you an empty glass and you fill it up yourself (like in American McDonalds), so not sure what your boss was complaining abut there. :?

I've never seen one of their restaurants, and don't even know where the nearest one is around here.

Where do you live?!

Even Wrexham, being the thriving metropolis that it is, has a Nandos.

It's only a small town,population 500,and a few sheep.

The nearest "big" town to me is Hastings, and I don't think they've got one, never seen one there anyway.

I'm not ashamed, disappointed or bothered by this fact, but I've NEVER eaten at Nandos.

Meh.

^They have them in Bristol and Sheffield. Still never been though. :)

I love Nandos.

*feels ashamed*

But yeah, I agree that it IS overpriced, but the one in Leicester has a really nice atmosphere. Well, one out of the three we have.

Despite thinking that it's overpriced, I'm going to defend Nandos a little bit here.
Maybe it's just the Nandos in Hatfield being alright (that and Hatfield House would be the only things in Hatfield being "alright"), but the place really isn't half as bad as some people here are making it out to be.

Sure, you have to get up and order your own food, but don't you do this at some other restaurants and buffets anyway? Nandos isn't claiming to be a fine dining experience, and on the couple of times I've been to Nandos queueing has never taken more than 5 minutes anyway. Someone then brings the food to your table as well, so there's no waiting around standing up!

Generally, the food is good (although nothing to orgasm over like a few people I know would), if a bit dear, and well worth a try if you've never been before!
Unless you have a decent grill, you probably won't be able to fully recreate their chicken either!

Yeah, in terms of service and general atmosphere, I've not had any problems at the ones I've been to, and the food has always been great "for what it is".

Even the one in BETHNAL Green is nice *shrug*

Bit over-priced and pretentious but stuff like PIZZA EXPRESS is a lot more guilty. UGH. Pizza Express <//3

That's probably because you don't have many students in your area.

Nandos is a student thing.

Don't worry kids, you'll grow out of it!

Stafford doesn't have a Nandos either and there (used to be) around 5,000 students a year study here... Well, I say study, I actually mean sit in their rooms making networks to download porn faster (computing and engineering and little else makes for a dull university).

Oh, and I've been to Rye and it's a lovely little place! High six Mr Nash! ;)

Yeah, it's overpriced (though not compared to a number of other Southern chains I could mention but won't), but it also offers chicken with an acceptable level of spiciness, which can be a pain to track down anywhere else, refillable drinks and bloody good chips, so I'm afraid it'll always be a popular choice from me.
The service... not so marvellous and RAGE does ensue when they get things wrong, which is often - but you can't fault the idea, or atmosphere in the restaurants as long as you go to a nicer one, and even Southend's is pretty nice!
