The Antlers are back! I really like the new sound, it's much more uplifting and re-playable in my opinion. I doubt it's going to be as hard-hitting or mind-blowing as their previous album 'Hospice', but it certainly kicks some hope into this decades music! :)

Low quality (live) snippet of Calvin Harris' new single with Kelis! It sounds like absolute sex!

Here's a bit of a new quirky one, an American band called AWOLNation that've come to my attention. The track's called Sail.

Dark, a bit mad, but strangely listenable.

Helplessness Blues - Fleet Foxes

The new album came out yesterday, and all in all, I'm quite pleased with it. It's a slight departure from their more soft and calm self titled album but they've still held on to most of their original sound. They've said this album is more "groove based." Everything's a lot more rhythmic and there seems more interesting melody writing. And of course, they've not let go of their signature close vocal harmony.

Things I don't like: some of the songs are quite repetitive. Usually the song is good enough to get away with excessive repetition, but sometimes it's a bit grating after a bit. Also, why does every band get violins in once they start developing? It's always bloody violins. There's one song which has a fiddle jig sort of thing in it, which was played on guitar live. The guitar sounded better.

Anyway, here's the title track.

I've really got into Bliss N Eso recently. This is such a great song:

I think this is brilliant! I must admit this band is perfect, I didn't think much of them at first, I though they seemed rather smug and 'up thereselves', but listening to their first album I was thoroughly surprised. It's came to be my favourite album of all time, they are all extremely talented and the music is just magical!

This is an awesome video of a new Freerunning academy in California.

The backing music is amazing. My fave dubstep track of the year.

How's Megalithic Symphony? I was thinking about downloading it. Have you heard the entire album or just this song?

^Just that song actually so far, but I do want to investigate more, because that's about the most interesting song i've heard this year so far. Its quite heavy and intense, but very sparse at the same time, and I like that. I'll investigate!

A friend just introduced me to Chromeo, and I can't stop listening.. their music is so damn catchy!
They're nothing new so I'm sure some people here have heard them, but in case you haven't they're this Canadian electrofunk duo, self-described as "the only successful Jewish/Arab partnership since the dawn of human culture."

Anyway this is the first track from their 2010 album. It's awesome.

Because somewhere some small Japanese girl decided it would be a good idea to mix Jazz and Punk, now we have Jazzcore. I dont know how to explain this stuff, just listen, try it once, if you dont like it, you never have to listen again. I might also add their pianist and bassist are amazing.

The artist is named Midori, this song is Anta ha Dareya

Thanks for posting Jer. Very interesting & I like it, but it's too bad the the vocals are more punk than a fusion of the two (until the last phrase).

And following another Metal Post:

Best Thrash realease for er....... a long time? Onslaught - Sound Of Violence. Possibly taking brutal thrash to a whole new level!! I'd just like to point out that Celtic Frost also dabbled with Thrash in their earlier days. For likers of Celtic Frost why not try Triptykon. :) keep it \m/

^Wonderful avatar you've got there. =VH= is the best

Here's some sweet dubstep
