What's new

Liseberg news topic, mid season report 2009 posted

Owned for a Clown coaster type thing, ha!

I love Gothenburg though, so I guess it's an excuse to go! :D

<---- Also owned by Clown Coaster.

A loss of a ride is always sad, but I don't mind Galactica getting scrapped, it has so far been the only ride to make me feel sick. I have once ridden a Disk-O, and I don't think it's that bad of a ride. The restraints, though, aren't that comfortable to men...

What comes to Rabalder, I don't see the point in replacing the coaster with a near replica. But of course there's somewhere a good reason for it.

^ The layout of Rabalder is plenty different to Cirkus Expressen, and the reason why they have decided to replace it is that it's getting pretty old now, and since they have had some failures they won't take any chances. But who really cares, it's still a new credit :)

Liseberg have just released that the winter season this year was better then last year with 540 000 visitors, even if the summer season was way worse.

End of year press release [Swedish]

My brother have sent me a couple of new images. Looks like they are getting ready to remove Cirkus Expressen, and that they are pretty ready to install Hang-Hai.

There was a light in Ikea called Rabalder, I laughed, and sighed...

Anyway looks to be a quick change.

^ LOL!!

They are starting to add some themeing elements to Hang Hai, and it looks like they will start to erect some steel soon.

Cirkusexpressen is history now, there is nothing left of it.

Update time!

liseberg090131_01.jpg

They have started with the foundation of the controllers hut.

liseberg090131_02.jpg

They are getting ready to make the foundations for Rabalder.

Noooo, it's still there, but there is still 3 months until opening.

No steel on Hang Hai yet, but the surroundings are staring to look really good.

Close up, But hey!! There is track installed!!

Also Liseberg have updated their homepage with prices for the 2009 season.

A lot of work have been done since last time.

liseberg090316_01.jpg

Look!!

liseberg090316_02.jpg

Looks just like the rendering.

liseberg090316_03.jpg

Also done!!

TRAIN!!

So I'm gonna assume that rendering of the coaster with the train backwards was just a mistake? Seems pretty forward to me. Either way, it looks nice, and the Disk-O is pretty as they always are. Two good additions to the park.. good to see them taking care of different age groups.

Anyway, another little update.

Kulingen, the neutered Looping Starship, is officially gone now!!

That last shot is superb! Yummy! :)

Add in sunshine, running swings, train on Lisebergbanan, and green foliage. It must be an awesome sight at summertime.

^^ LOL, it's just how I write the date. If I would have interpenetrated it like you then it should have been written 9/4-15.

^ Will see what I can dig up...

Almost feels like there might be a CF gathering at Liseberg sometime this summer, since I know quite a few people that is interested in going to Liseberg.
I will be on location in about 2 weeks!!

^You know, I may be able to get to that! Or not, depending on whether I'm allowed to go or not, or where our family is at the time.

Upswingett = *droooool*

Oh and Lisebergbanan and all the new rides are looking awesome as well.

I really need to visit Liseberg soon, it looks like it's definitely taking some of the more 'fairground-esque' rides and putting in more of the theme park rides. That disk-o is one of the nicest themed ones out there!
