Lovely guys at CoasterCrew with a little more insight into the track.

Well they could.. and probably should have.. like how Cedar Point didn't say they were getting TTD until December when it was already built.. :p

Wow, this ride is the first complete curveball we've been thrown for years. I still have absolutely no idea what to make of this thing. I think Intamin have got a MASSIVE ace up their sleeves somehow, theres definately something we're missing here. Why the double spined track, which we didn't see on Mill Force, unless it just makes it cheaper? The lift-hill sections too. I presume all the stuff on the left of the track is for a walkway. Maybe since Mill Force was built either parks have demanded or legislation forces them to put the walkways in.

I just can't imagine any possible lay-out that would "fit" that park, based on photos. Maybe it will just be an out-and-back airtime machine like Bizarro, but on a bigger scale? A weird thing I've noticed is that in the rollercoaster height leagues, theres over a 100ft gap between the 318 of Steel Dragon 2000 and the 420 of Dragster that no-ones ever build a coaster in, so maybe this ride will be halfway between the two? I can't help but think we're missing something. Maybe floorless trains? Why would the station need to be so heavily supported for normal trains?

Whatever it is, this looks like a possible "best steel" contender coming right up. :)

Cheaper and stronger is what I've been seeing.. basically replacing box track as the major load parts of the track.. as we can see on the F1 coaster at Ferrari World.

Millennium Force has a trolley system, which works just as well as a normal walkway.

And those sections aren't really something we haven't seen before on other coasters out there. As loefet (I think) mentioned earlier:

Just because the supports are different doesn't mean they are special in any way. They might just want to be minimizing the amount of lift hill supports or have to cross a larger gap.

And legislation doesn't exist.

The rest is anyone's guess. :)

Really all the big lift pieces say is that there's not going to be much in the way of supports on the lift. I'm sure that will be really visually impressive. With a truss like that, the span between support members can be sufficiently massive.

I think to me, the area still seems awful small for a giga coaster. It could fit, it's just going to have to turn back on itself quite a bit. Hopefully they'll find some room in there for airtime hills-- or at least moreso then Millennium (not exactly hard). Of course, there's always the possibility of lots more clearing as the site expands. It's amazing how much area can be clear-cut in a few hours.

I wouldn't think space would be a problem. Anyone who has been to KD can tell you it's in a pretty isolated spot off the highway. I seriously doubt they've already cleared all the space they need, so don't take what we're seeing now as the final footprint. They'll have to cut down a lot more trees, but if they own much of the land around the park, there's tons of room to expand.

Ahh, that was just a bit of speculation based on the fact that apparently Alton ripped out Black Hole because Health & Safety made it a legal obligation to install a walkway for the circular lifthill. Do no such laws exist in the states then? I certainly wish Britain was as leniant as the states in terms of planning restrictions! :p

Whatever do you mean?
I mean that giga coasters take up a serious amount of space, they're simply forced to by having so much speed that the elements need to be massive. That space just doesn't feel right, looking at aerials. My guess is it will be an out-and-back layout in an "L" shape, with the station, lifthill and main drop behind Anaconda. Then a Mill Force style ground-hugging turn to the right followed by air times hills parallel to Rebel Yell, and a turn around near the Hurler station.

Rules like that exist, obviously, but Millennium Forces hill is perfectly safe.. hence it is still there. :p

You're speaking as though you're absolutely sure they're done with land clearing. And you're speaking like that's the only bit of land they have.

I thought that there was a small strip of land cleared that runs on the other side of Rebel Yell, going behind the waterpark. This would give the ride a long footprint; basically the whole side of the park.
