IAAPA 2025

The new Storybook Studios theme park, I wonder where it will be
Not long until that smell of freshly laid carpet is wafting up our noses and our eyes witness silky sheets being majestically whipped off coaster trains. The gasps! The laughs!

Coverage starts tomorrow around 10am Orlando time on the usual CF social media channels.

Here’s the press schedule. What takes your fancy?

Wow, there have been some really left-field announcements today!

Suffice to say, I did not have a Raptor at Family Kingdom, or an S&S launch coaster in Orlando, on my bingo card!

^ oh 100%

Googling the place a bit, seems it was up for sale 6 months ago and the owner has also just sold his Miami home (for a lot of $$, perhaps he is cashing it all in to build that dream coaster-park?)

Something someone posted on the reddit thread about this made me Google a bit more...

I turned up;

During the announcement Thursday, it was revealed that the ride will be known as Skyscraper and will sit inside a $200 million entertainment complex called the SkyPlex on International Drive and Sand Lake Road.

Joshua Wallack, under the name WF IDrive Realty, bought up 12 acres of land, including the land where the I-Drive Burger King now sits, and behind it, the former "Fun & Wheels" attraction.

so IT'S THE SAME PEOPLE 🤣

Don't go buying your tickets yet people!

But he (or his father) does have $16M burning a hole in his pocket, so you never know! ;)

I kinda assumed. I remember when mangoes was being built alongside the massive parking garage that was supposed to double for skyplex which was basically going across the street, on the opposite corner of the same intersection (SLR). they wanted a zipline across International Drive at some point too, that was also denied permits

Got to visit the show yesterday. Almost had more fun running into people I only see once or twice a year more than the actual show itself. Going near the end of the show I felt like everything had already been shown and while there were new things it felt very much the same as the last few years? Maybe I'm just jaded 😅 i still had fun wandering around but found it funny that I barely spent one entire day where I used to spend the entire show, anyways, here's some photos from Twitter of things everyone has already seen.
