1. New Texas Giant (August 2012-July 2014)- I rode this for the first time in 2012. It was my first RMC, but I didn't know who RMC was or what it did at the time, because I wasn't quite an enthusiast at the time. After my trip to Six Flags over Texas that summer and riding NTG, I created a CoasterForce account. NTG is what really sparked my interest. Such a long ride, with ejector air through out. Now, it is considered one of the "worst" RMCs, but yet it is still a damn great ride.

2. Goliath SFGAm (July 2014- current)- I rode this beast for the first time July 2014. After much anticipation, it lived up to the hype. First full day at the park, we sprinted to the Goliath and we were on within 10 minutes. Backrow ride, wow.

3. Potential future?- I have a major cred run starting in exactly one week from today. Coasters that COULD potentially be my new number 1, but I won't count on it too much because I don't want to be disappointed or let down- Outlaw Run, The Voyage, Millennium Force, Maverick, Top Thrill Dragster, MAYBE even Storm Chaser. Looks like the weakest RMC that I'll be getting on, but it's an RMC so I can't count it out yet.
2. Goliath SFGAM (July 2014- May 2016)

3. Outlaw Run (May 2016-current)- I was looking forward to this so much, and it did not disappoint at all. Love this thing so much.

I have three, I have such a soft spot for Nemesis, no matter if another coaster is better I like nemesis as my number 1, but Kingda Ka is the only coaster ever to scare me slightly, and El toro kicks any coasters a$$ so I switch and choose between those three.

no1 - Nemesis
no1 - Kingda Ka
no1 - El Toro

:--D

Naturally my first favorite was my first coaster, Thunderbolt at SFNE.
2nd favorite: Yankee Cannonball
3rd favorite: Boulder Dash
4th favorite: Superman The Ride
5th and current favorite: Maverick

I dont remember all my #1s

El Toro - was the longest running, it was #1 since it opened
Boulder Dash - Turned my #1 in 2012 after riding it for the first time
Skyrush - Only a few days Skyrush kicked BDash off my top spot after an excellent ERT session.
Phoenix - This has been my #1 after a string of really excellent rides in 2013 and a realization that my #1 should be more than just the newest and most popular ride and more the one that makes me the happiest and means the most to me. Phoenix has always made me extremely happy, its infinitely re-rideable, and I have yet to find another ride quite like it.

Millennium Force June 2012 - January 2014
Beast for some time in 2013 until I went back to MF
Kumba January 2014 - July 2014
Outlaw Run July 2014 - June 2016
Lightning Rod June 2016 - present

2002-2009 X/X2

May 2009- August 2009 Prowler

August 2009- April 2011 Diamondback

April 2011-now New Texas Giant

In all honestly, X2 hasn't been displaced, just others have surprised me more. No coaster has blown my mind like it did back when I rode it the first time in 2002.

Sorry for bumping an old thread, but I have had 5 number 1s since becoming an enthusiast in 2013:
  1. Rita (Alton Towers): 28th September 2013 - 27th July 2014
  2. Stealth (Thorpe Park): 27th July 2014 for a couple of hours
  3. The Swarm (Thorpe Park): 27th July 2014 - 22nd August 2016
  4. Montu (Busch Gardens Tampa): 22nd August 2016 - 23rd August 2016
  5. Mako (SeaWorld Orlando): 23rd August 2016 - present
As you can probably see, my taste in coasters has changed quite a lot over the past 5 years! Rita is now my 2nd least favourite coaster, as I kind of went off it as the years went on, if you get what I mean. For some bizarre reason, I had a real liking for Intamin Accelerator Coasters when I first became an enthusiast that has waned a lot over the years. I still like Stealth (it's currently my #12), but I've really gone off Rita because of how rough it is now!

Many of you are also probably thinking "If it's his number 5 coaster now and above some of the other rides here, then why isn't Nemesis here?". Well, the answer to that is; while I did ride Nemesis for the first time in September 2013, as with all of Alton's other 1.4m height restriction coasters, it actually wasn't my favourite ride at Alton Towers when I first came off it. It was 2nd to Rita when I first rode Alton's 1.4m coasters, but it really grew on me as the years went by, and I started to go off Rita, so that's why it is now my favourite Alton coaster! Oblivion is another one that really grew on me as the years went by, but that's a story for another topic!

Showing my age again:

1994 - 1998, Nemesis.
1998 - 2000, Oblivion. Held the top spot for a season or two, just because of how downright terrifying it was.
From 2000 right the way through to 2016 it was Nemesis again.
2016 - 2018, Helix. Had to think about it long and hard, needed multiple rerides to be absolutely certain, but finally conceded after all these years that yes, Helix is actually better than Nemesis.
Some of you were there that day. :)
2018 - current. Steel Vengeance. Instant number 1 smash, absolutely no doubt after one ride that it was the new Daddy, and by more of a clear margin than I thought was possible. A night time mini-marathon with 2 knobheads the following night merely extended SteVe's lead. ;)

Same as Hixee, that has now changed for me as well:

Millennium Force 2000-2003
Top Thrill Dragster 2003-2007
El Toro 2007-2008
Boulder Dash 2008-2016
Lightning Rod 2016-present

Update to mine as well.. can't believe I forgot about Mavericks several month reign:

Millennium Force 2000-2003
Top Thrill Dragster 2003-2007
Maverick 2007
El Toro 2007-2008
Boulder Dash 2008-2016
Lightning Rod 2016-2018
Steel Vengeance 2018-present

My list begins with some local childhood parks

- Antelope - Gulliver's Warrington (late 90s - 2002)
- Whirlwind - Camelot (2002 - 2006)

Suddenly jayjay finds coaster enthusiasm

- Nemesis (2006/03 - 2006/09) - First visit to Alton Towers. A whole new world of what theme parks can offer is opened up to me and my favourite ride starts changing rapidly
- The Ultimate (2006/09 - 2007/04) - The madness that is. I do my lists purely on enjoyment, and despite most of everything being wrong with The Ultimate, it does pack a huge amount of enjoyable insanity
- Kumba (2007/04 - present) - Not found anything to top this yet (but this year promises to challenge that). Intense until the end - a very well designed and substantial ride
Last posted right before I started exploring Europe, so...

- OzIris (2016/05 - 2016/08) - Probably overrated this tbf, it was a tentative choice
- Kärnan (2016 - present) - I left that Germany/Denmark/Sweden trip with four new rides in my top 5.

Titan 2008-2009
Hulk 2009-2011
Goliath, SFOG 2011-2012
Millennium Force 2012-2014
Kumba 2014
Outlaw Run 2014-2016
Lightning Rod 2016-2018
Steel Vengeance 2018-

-Raging Bull(2008-June 2014)
-Outlaw Run(June 2014)
-Goliath SFGAm(June 2014-July 2015)
-Voyage(July 2015-June 2018)
-Steel Vengeance(June 2018-current)

Two - Nemesis until I rode Outlaw Run.

What I really need to do is go back and reride all of the coasters in my top 20 to see if they're really still worthy of their positions.

Wouldn't we all! If only just to get a few more laps on the top ones!

@Ian is alive! :D

I think I've probably only had the two (Nemesis and Katun) - aside from pre-July2000 when it would probably have been one of the more junior Alton coasters

Khan & Mamba may have flirted with top spot at some point back in '08 as well :)
