Nothing is confirmed, but it is expected to be a horror maze...

No Sea Life aquarium, no queues and no pre-show publicity for the octopus's mouth. Behind the announced new "Octopus's alive!" is apparently hidden by a Ganzjahresmaze. In the announcement, the narrator promises a "chamber of horrors with the ultimate live frightening".

Re: Krake Horror Maze @ Heide Park 2012

Well, they needed a place to put all the themeing they couldn't have on Krake itself...

Re: Krake Horror Maze @ Heide Park 2012

Wow, um, this is one of the strangest things ever. I'd love to see this work, but, the theme is a bit strange, saying that, if they put the effort in, it could be pretty amazing and unique.

Re: Krake Horror Maze @ Heide Park 2012

Sounds exciting! It's nice to see a different version instead of all the "classical" horror mazes! Plus I really liked the Krake theme, I think it'll be excellent!

Re: Krake Horror Maze @ Heide Park 2012

Its certainly a unique theme for a horror maze.

Pokemanic I actually think you could be right, aren't they building a new Krake mouth for the coaster to dive into for next season? Therefore they will have quite a bit of themeing left over which will be perfect for this.

What are the actors going to dress up as though? Giant octopuses and sharks?

Re: Krake Horror Maze @ Heide Park 2012

^Think flying dutchman and Pirates of the Carribbean

Re: Krake Horror Maze @ Heide Park 2012

Doesn't have to be filled with actors though, does it? Could just be a walk-through attraction? Similar to that Nautilus (?) walk-through at DLP.

Just what I was going to say. Haunted/Horror/Scare Attractions don't necessarily need to have actors enclosed inside, they could simply just have a story/animatronics/visual effects that are based upon the guests being in peril/danger/horrific place. It's that simple.

Re: Krake Horror Maze & Tunnel for the Coaster

More info on the Horror Maze, and confirmation that the drop will have a tunnel for next year

This message, I literally copied from themepark.nl, because I can not better sum up.

Yesterday there was a press conference on the changes next year to come. Here is a brief summary:

- New horrormaze based on an old ship wreck. Visitors walk through a galley, armory, dark labyrinth and a suspension bridge. There are 20 actors in the maze to walk that scare you.

- Next year is 2 million euros invested in the further thematization of the pirate area. (which includes the horrormaze)

- The wreck of the drop comes from cracking. The marine wrap is + / - 5 stories high.

There are several small attractions districts to make adjustments for future infrastructure as possible. The park will improve the flow in the park. Other attractions will be moved in the future to better fit the theme.

- Besides the pirate zone will next year all three other themed areas with their own entrances.

- Next year is the impetus for major change over the next five years Heide Park will have to go through.

- The famous statue of liberty will be partially dismantled and put down in the middle of Colossos order to contribute to the theme Land of make Essenes (an adventure theme

Awesome to see the Krake mouth is finally confirmed.

Don't know what to make of putting the statue of liberty next to Colossos like that though, really random.

It's great that they're going to finally do tat theming now.

Plus, 20 actors? That's a LOT. They'll end up cutting that down and have it so there's multiple "Hit Points" for each actor to get to. Seriously? 20?!

I think they probably got the idea of a scare maze from Thorpe park's saw alive.
Since both are Merlin parks, good idea though.

^^It'll probably only be peak times. Pasaje kept advertising the fact that they had 15 live actors but they could run the whole maze with just 2 or 3 actors quite easily if they needed to. It must be massive if they're planning 20 actors as that certainly is a lot.
Looking forward to how it turns out though.

Not sure about the statue of liberty. It does look pretty cool in the middle of the lake (even if Heide's version is a bit of a fatty) It's going to look odd in the middle of a wooden coaster and not have the same visual impact.

Compared to seeing how popular "Scare Mazes" are across the whole world and mainly the boom we've got in Europe? If anything, I really don't think they'd just base their inspiration upon Saw Alive...

^ No, not just that one but imo i think that's the main one.
I'm not sure about the statue of liberty there though, it looks good in it's current place.

^I think the Statue might not be erected in the middle of the coaster, but simply put on storage there until they find a better place for it. A little hard to tell from the quote...

That, or they erect it there and build a new area around it.

They're going to be creating 3 new themed areas, and the fallen statue will help towards the theme of one of them.

The theme will probably be along the lines of dark ride at Gardaland, Reset.
