Gigs 'n' Tours

Went to see MIKA last night. It was pretty cool, basically being at a children's birthday party with big inflatable balloons and streamers and the band dressed in animal costumes. Basically one massive stage show. First time standing too, that sounds so lame.

Palladium supported him and they are now one of my favourite bands.

FOOS!!!!

I have to get tickets! I'm still gutted at missing them.

For £42.50 they'd better have good support though :p.

We Are Scientists were very good! Lots of fun, new songs sound good (album out in March), crowd loved it:-

No! What are you going to charge? :p

Thought there was one, Ticketmaster says pre-sale starts at 9, and GP sales open at 10.

I wouldn't worry, the presale was through gigsandtours.com [the ticketmaster one was only if you bought the new album through iTunes], so went into school late so I could buy some, and they emailed me at lunchtime to tell me that they rejected my card! Surely it should check before comfirming the order.

Presale standing are all gone now, so another late start to school tomorrow so I can use a decent ticket agent is now in order...

I will be partaking of the Maiden pre-sale for Twickenham, making that three confirmed Maiden concerts:

Twickenham, 5th July.
Oslo, 24th July
Gothenburg, 26th July.

Pre-sale ftw.

Woop, I have another gig lined up :D

Its next thursday and it will cost me £2 to get in :p Its my friends band and I'm filming it for them, should be cool. Its at some venue in Lower Sydenham. If your interested it starts at 8pm, email me if interested in going.

Foo Fighters standing tickets sold out in 10 minutes :(.

I did try.

They've added a Friday show, but I can't be arsed now.

10 minutes? That's nothing, getting tickets for Radiohead last year, the Hammersmith shows sold out in 5 seconds ish.

Omg, as soon as I typed my last comment, Mum called up from work, having just booked 6 standing tickets for Friday. I've only just calmed down :D

^lol

Last thursday was my mates tiny gig in Lower Sydenham (what a bloody dump!). It was ok, felt more like a rehearsal but they were superb and felt more like a real band on stage compared to when I last saw them at a music studio. I filmed it but havn't had a chance to even look at the footage. They should hopefully have another gig soon (hopefully at a better venue).

Anyways last night I went to see The Klaxons at Brixton, it was awesomes. The first act was terrible, all of their songs sounded exactly the same and it was just uber lame. Whereas the second band was awesome it was these two guys who used all these computers to create some random sounds, coming together to create some awesome Techno rave music, the crowd went crazy for them but no one knows who they were which was really annoying.

Then the Klaxons came on, OMFG they are awesome live. They have such a good stage presence and they just play one awesome tune after another. Its such a shame that their music feels so short, the songs are so good that they make a 3/4 min song feel like 1 min and thats usually when you listen to the album, when you see them live everything just flies by way too quickly. Aparently they will have a new album out next year, hmm, it will be hard to beat.

Iron Maiden in Twickenham.

Please tell me you'll be getting a standing ticket.

Will's being a gay and sitting down.

Definately. The thought of sitting in one of those damn awful plastic stadium seats for hours scares the <img> out of me. Standing tickets in Twickenham are usually cheaper too [although it probably won't in this case].

I have standing tickets for it too. I wonder how many CFers will be there.

Rush is extending their Snakes and Arrows into 2008. I missed them when they came through the first leg but I'll be there when they hit Washington. It will be my first time seeing them, I'm pretty excited.
