German Eggs & Easter Creds 2015

What better way to spend the Easter break than getting creds? That's exactly what 9 of us decided to do.

Friday 3rd April: Day One, Heide Park

I had met up with Stone Cold the night before and we picked Nealbie and Ploddish up from Cambridge station. We had dinner at the Lucky Star Chinese buffet and then went back to Stone Cold's ready for a very early start the next morning.

Our alarms rang at the ludicrous time of 4.30am and by 5am the 4 of us were en route to Stansted Airport. As it was so early, the roads were clear and we were soon making our way to the mid-stay car park, JetParks. There was a bus already at the car park's bus stop so we parked the car, grabbed our bags and legged it for the bus...which we just caught. Phew.

Half way to the terminal, Stone Cold realised he didn't have his phone...he'd left it in the **** car. He'd have to go back and get it, the cretin. He asked the driver if he would take him back to the car park to get it, he also asked me to go with him to hold the bus and stop it driving off. I, grudgingly agreed. Bare in mind we had less than 90 minutes before the plane took off, Stansted was rammed due to people getting away for Easter, and the round trip to the carpark and back takes 30 minutes, but we made it...and even had time for Stone Cold to buy my breakfast for the trouble of running around.

We met up with Peep and Nic and boarded our plane to Bremen. An hour and an uneventful flight later and we arrived. We were meeting Mysterious Sue at the airport who had driven to Germany the night before...when she arrived, I don't know as I had joined John and Nic in their hire car as I was getting a German Merlin Pass and didn't know how burdenous it would be in terms of queues.

The Vadge Mobile!

The front entrance is a little lacklustre.

11046648_10205601115901610_4435166896148144280_n.jpg

The dull weather probably didn't help

I got my Merlin Pass and we entered the park. As we had no idea how long the others would be, we thought it best to start the day with getting a cred so we headed over to Indy Blitz.

It was good fun, but, as you'd expect, not a great amount to it, we were pleased for the plus one.

Nic had received a text saying the others had arrived and were waiting by the entrance so we hurried back over there. Obviously, others needed the Indy Blitz cred so we went back over to it. I loved the toilet sign theming.

11136709_10205601117621653_3600095604688856457_n.jpg

I rode the cred again because LoG points.

Next we decided to get some B&M action so went over to Krake.

You can get some fantastic images of the park as a whole from the edge of the lake, I found Heide Park, in the most part at least, beautiful.

But anyway, Krake. Happily it was walk on and I was really looking forward to riding.

The 'mouth' the drop goes into is fantastic, and really intimidating.

We queued for front which took around 10 minutes but soon we were climbing the lift hill. It holds you at the top for quite a while, looking straight down into the mouth which is full of mist and suddenly you whoosh through it, it's just amazing, out the other side just in time to get splashed by water from the water brake. It is such a good coaster, it isn't up to the standards of Sheikra which is more intense and a better ride over all, but I still loved Krake, and it looks stunning.

Peep bought an ORP, but as he bought it, I'll wait for him to post ;)

We then headed over to Transilvania to ride Heide's newest B&M, Flug der Dämonen, a wing rider. I was looking forward to riding.

10346544_10205601132382022_1712943690056578169_n.jpg

The queue line seemed never ending...going on, and on, and on, but it meant I could take some good photos.

I queued for right side as that is my favourite on The Swarm. I sat back row.

11141118_10205601135902110_3681824925794137458_n.jpg

It starts off excellently, the first half is fantastic, but after that it all goes down hill, it might just be because we sat back row but it was rough, too intense and uncomfortable. There was one part where it felt as if the whole train was slipping, I hated the end bit. I was so disappointed because I love The Swarm and was expecting, purely because of this rides amazing setting, this to be much better, but it wasn't.

We rode again straight away, I had the intension of riding front on the same side. I queued at the front row but a ride op tried to move me on, I was like, no, I want to ride front but they refused point blank. I was not impressed so ended up second from back. Ugh. I had exactly the same experience as last time. Ughhh.

We went to get the Big Loop cred over and done with. It looked vile and it apparently was vile.

Just look at those seats </3

11130107_10205601138182167_1423226988995729014_n.jpg

The restraints were awful. The cred....surprisingly not awful. I was expecting much worse but it never really got painful at all, it was almost enjoyable! The helix at the end wasn't really needed as it was quite painful..and intense, but it was a surprisingly good ride.

We went to the Dämonen Grill for lunch, you have to fill in a sheet for your order. It's a great system and eliminates any error that might arise with the language barrier...but that doesn't really occur in Germany as everyone speaks English anyway :p

I had a burger with salad and amazing chips, it was a delicious meal.

11138158_10205601139262194_8639903119766979532_n.jpg

After lunch we headed over to Bobbhan as it had just opened after being down all morning but, as it had just opened, it had attracted quite a crowd and a half hour queue so we bailed on that one.

11059380_10205601141582252_172555203856897867_n.jpg

The ride building looks fab...especially with the dark clouds overhead.

We walked over to the Colossos side of the park. Dark clouds loomed.

Unfortunately Limit was down during the two days we were there, no big loss as it didn't look good (and it is a Vekoma SLC) but that extra cred was missing :/

11094724_10205601144582327_9200664015051313090_n.jpg

We had a go on the slides, they were good fun.

11136624_10205601147262394_4924112644652413424_n.jpg

I particularly enjoyed the roller one which created good vibrations.

Grottenblitz was next.

11071953_10205601147382397_2162371947154657178_n.jpg

Just a mine train...at first sight at least. You enter a tunnel which has two massive animatronic horses flighting to loud thunder and flashing light. It's fantastic. The coaster itself? Meh. It was alright but just another mine train really.

Next up was Colossos, the coaster I was probably most looking forward to on this trip.

1487246_10205601157462649_8915092422657520596_n.jpg

Just look at how intimidating it looks.

There was literally no queue for it. Peep and I queued for back. We were excited for the cred!

11133727_10205601161742756_7829560449830767756_n.jpg

Stone Cold and Nic rode back first, Nealbie and Ploddish were further forward.

11133693_10205601163342796_425423930462288505_n.jpg

And finally we were on. The lift hill went on and on, I couldn't wait to go over the top, suddenly the train sped up and we were flung over and down. OMG THE AIRTIME. We raced down and up, I was flung from my seat, I flung my arms in the air, screaming with joy at the airtime, up and down, up and down, it slowed as we turned to come racing back the other way, it picks up even more pace, racing through the airtime hills. This thing is **** amazing. We enter the helix, it's intense but not too intense, rough but not painful, it's (almost) perfect. The ride coasts round to the end and back into the station.

I was speechless, it is just brilliant. It's a little rough towards the end but apart from that, it's just amazing. Apparently it is better in the front so I couldn't wait for that.

I took a selfie with it because I'm weird like that.

11150203_10205601152822533_4628994386038260232_n.jpg

We headed over to the land of the flat rides, there was theming in the toilets!

There was a statue themed to Angry Vadge.

10403148_10205601166702880_4368061617314883504_n.jpg

First up, Stone Cold, Sue and I rode Huracan.

11150636_10205601167742906_2340084639547889290_n.jpg

I'd ridden a Graviton before but this was different as it actually lifted up. I have rarely laughed so hard. Stone Cold's bad back got the better of him and in slow motion he fell to the ground, it was just hilarious. He proceeded to crawl off the ride on his hands and knees whilst everyone else was struggling to stand up from laughing.

Next Sue and I rode El Sol which is simply an Enterprise. I'd never ridden one of these with two people in a car...Sue and I had never been so well acquainted.

But now we needed more creds so headed back over to Bobbhan in the hope the queue had died down which it had.

10432948_10205601169862959_7380911720435878216_n.jpg

I'd only ever ridden one Bobsleigh, Avalanche at Blackpool Pleasure Beach, which really took me by surprise so I was looking forward to riding this one.

Peep took his seat

I took mine. I sat front row. It is a good coaster but it just doesn't really get going, there seems to be a lack of speed and it just drags on and on. I was left feeling quite disappointed to be honest.

644438_10205601176023113_4058881437744041805_n.jpg

The exit was near a great view point for Flug so I had to take some shots.

We then headed over to the back of the park to ride Desert Race, the Rita clone. I took some photos of the park on the way.

Desert Race was right out of the way, in a run down, drab, unkempt part of the park, it was just a **** looking area.

10360249_10205601187143391_7266780823637160536_n.jpg

This ride had an amazing control booth, inside a helicopter!

11008539_10205601190663479_5653004288904226269_n.jpg

As expected the ride was meh. I believe it is identical to Rita, the launch certainly is but surprisingly, the launch felt a little but mediocre in comparison to Rita's...and the launch on that is hardly amazing. It wasn't as rough as Rita though which I was happy about.

Rides close at 18:00 and it was around 17:50 now so we headed over to the two little boat rides that go into poncy greenhouses and ****. We rode Einfahrt. With all of us in it, the water level was literally a couple of inches away from pouring into the boat, we could have tilted it far enough to create problems. Have some photos of this extortionately weird ride.

11138175_10205601194783582_5524480525134045023_n.jpg

11057367_10205601194623578_7960450041503217939_n.jpg

It was all a little weird. The boat travels through the same tunnel that Grottenblitz does with the fighting horse which, in the time it take you to pass through once, will have been set off my the train travelling through twice. Yay.

But it was now time to leave Heide Park, but we'd be back tomorrow. On the way out we straddled elephants and turtles...Stone Cold grazed his inner thighs mounting an elephant...yes it's as weird as it sounds. He also laid down in a chain circle? I don't even know.

We went to the hotel we had booked, the Landhaus Eden.

11130174_10205601196823633_4029548200531293606_n.jpg

Soon after we had checked in, Stone Cold, Nealbie, Ploddish, Mysterious Sue and I all crammed into Mysterious Sue's car and made our way north to experience the german fair, Hamburger Dom. Hamburg was an hour away but Germany travelling creds awaited. We arrived, and as we got out the car a creepy guy came up to us and asked 'if we wanted a good time', we can only assume he was trying to sell as drugs. Great start to Hamburg.

It got better.

Hamburger Dom was shut. Apparently, it is open for 2 weeks over Easter, but it is always shut on Good Friday, and only Good Friday, and what was the date? Ahh yes, Good Friday. ****. We could see the creds too, Wilde Maus XXL and TestsTrecke at least. SPITE!

We decided to grab some food as we were here anyway. We went to asiahung as it looked pretty good, and my gosh it was good! I had orange chicken, it was so tasty.

1907646_10205601196863634_2088774785287782025_n.jpg

In preparation for my trip to Japan in September I also started using chopsticks for the first time. I eventually got the hang of them and felt quite proud of myself.

We made our way back to the car and then the journey back to Soltau and our hotel. I shared with Peep and Nic who were both asleep when I arrived back (it was after midnight) but I soon woke them up with my clunking around. =D>

And that was it for the first day, it was a great first day in Germany, 8 new creds. Day two would consist of another Day at Heide and a quick trip to Serengeti Park to get their cred(s). Thank you very much for reading, day two of my report up soon, I'm sure others will contribute at some time. ;)

^Merg. I felt foolish writing it but there was no queue, but a couple of people waiting for back...yes I know grammatically incorrect, was hoping no one would spot it tbh.

Yeah I know, it was annoying. I just wrote my TripAdvisor review for Hamburger Dom and started it off with 'do not go on Good Friday, it is SHUT' so hopefully other people won't make the same mistake that we did ;)

Great report, Jordan. I find it entertaining you didn't even check the opening times of the fair before engaging in such a drive. You win some, you lose some, am I right? ;)

To be fair (sorry couldn't resist) we did research it but the only site we found was for dates in 2006. ECG posted a great German fair tracking website a while ago but that wasn't any good on this occasion. We just went back the next day when it was open, like the goons that we are.

^ Ah, okay, Teststrecke looks like a coaster that is not to be missed, so you are kind of forgiven! ;)

Back on the subject, I might sound a bit smug, but I managed to find the opening hours of the fair after less than 2 minutes of search. True, they are in German, but nevertheless...

Nope not at all, most things were walk on, Colossos was busy first thing and Bobbhan attracted a queue when it opened mid-afternoon, as it was Good Friday we were expecting it to be rammed so were pleasantly surprised.

Out of curiosity, how was Flug der Daemonen too intense? It doesn't look fast enough to be intense, but I suppose it could be the compactness?

Yeah I think that's what did it. It looks amazing and it has an amazing setting, but I really couldn't ride it all day, unlike The Swarm. When others eventually report they might have differing opinions but that's how I felt. It's still a great coaster overall though.

We had the roughness issue on Flug as well but the inside seats are a lot better, I got a pretty fab ride on an inside seat. It's a better than average cred imo, love the airtime hill.

I'm going to attempt a semi-speedy trip report because I don't want to bore everyone with the same details as what Jordan has already laid out.

The night before Nic stayed round mine to make the journey to Stansted that little bit easier. This still required us to awake at a stupid time in the morning but we eventually made it with plenty of time to spare. We met the others at the Wetherspoons pub (because anywhere else would just feel wrong). We then got on our very busy plane to Germany.

Now in Germany Nic, Jordan and I picked up the hire car while the others waited around for a Sue. The hire car was quite nice (for passengers, I don't think Nic was totally over the moon with it but then again she hated the idea of everything being on the wrong side). We then drove up the road to Heide Park. This being my first time to the park I was quite excited, it was also my first park of the year!

11130389_10155480655000360_5129272844432260464_o.jpg

The weather was looking meh and while faffing with Jordan's annual pass in the randomly themed building near the entrance the weather decided to get a bit more meh and it began to rain. Boo.

10854981_10155480654945360_6987937455183720509_o.jpg

Bored of waiting for the others to turn up and having no eta we headed off to ride the nearest cred to pass the time. Indy-blitz turned out to be the closest to the entrance and it was within a random Western themed area. You may be thinking, why random? Well, the way it jars with everything else surrounding it just looks odd. Everything is quite ornate and garden-like and then within a large fenced off area it's a sparse sand-pit western area. Turns out this was to be a common theme around the park of traditional park gardens surrounding a random generic-themed area.

11038868_10155480655245360_178345087988726882_o.jpg

Anyway, I digress. The cred was a thing that was happening while the weather was being miserable. The cred was ok, nothing to really write about here, just a standard little family coaster. After we got off one of us had received a text to say the rest of the gang had arrived so we went over to meet them. Only to just go straight back to Indy-blitz. Richard had been a naughty boy...

11146360_10155480655485360_4580464894568117378_o.jpg

We couldn't wait to finally ride Krake so we didn't wait any longer and went straight over to that next. Oblivion-deluxe as it was referenced to for the rest of the trip only had a small queue (hurrah!) so we waited just that little bit longer for front row. Being an awkward group number of 7 one of us had to be spited to a different row, we elected Sue. Hence why she doesn't appear in the below on ride photo.

I really enjoyed Krake, it's short and sweet and leaves you wanting to just run around again and again. I love coasters that can leave you with that sensation.

B&Ms are great so obviously we went straight for Damonen next. Despite the queue not having anyone really in front of us it still took a while before we got on due to that excessively long queueline. Now, I don't like this queueline. The indoor bit is well themed but then you exit into concrete cattle pens? Yes being able to wait underneath the ride is great but it all just looks unfinished and completely jars with the rest of the themed area. The other ride area bits which were fenced off just looked untidy and full of rubbish left over from construction (like around the brake run on Swarm). Things like that frustrate me because it's almost like what's the point putting the effort in elsewhere?

Sorry, I got distracted there. The ride then. First I'll let you know that I think Raptor is still the best winged coaster out there (that I've ridden), Gatekeeper is so big that it completely misses the entire point of what makes these coasters worth-while, Swarm is pretty good and Wild Eagle is meh (really needed more rides on it but that was beyond my control). So how does Damonen fare? It's pretty good, the tight layout has meant it's quite creative and fun with the only issue being that the only good side is the right as the left side has barely any of the near misses etc. It's also crazy how later the next day the ride differed in experience but more on that later. So far I'd say it's better than the American ones but not as good as Swarm and Raptor.

We then went over to Big Loop. Everyone was fretting that it'll beat us up etc. I apparently tend to be the only one to find a lot of these Arrow/Vekoma loopers ok. Yeah they can have kinks in the track which can be problematic but I've ridden enough ok ones to not tarnish them all with the same brush. This one was one of the better ones of the coaster type and I enjoyed it enough to want to do it again the next day.

We decided that food now needed to happen. We went into the awesome place opposite Damonen. The food was pretty darn tasty - those chips!!! So tasty. The setting was pretty nice too but I didn't understand the huge waste of space taken up with a lounge?

With Bobbahn now open but with the rest of the park guests queuing for it we continued onwards and over to the mine train. It was a rather standard affair apart from the random animatronic horses.

Some slides were discovered which resulted in much amusement including Sue throwing her phone down a slide.

It was then time for Collosos. Going up to the station and seeing that cattlepen on a slope looked horrendous, so glad we just waltzed straight past it. Sitting near the back provided me with plenty of airtime. I was expecting a lot more from the little hill before the helix but it didn't really do anything. Talking of the helix, why are the corners so square? It wasn't rough or painful but it sure shook me about in an unpleasant manner. Overall it's a fun coaster, is it great? no. But it is a solid ride.

That's where I'm going to have to leave it today. I'll hopefully finish this report at some point.

Unfortunately Limit was down during the two days we were there, no big loss as it didn't look good (and it is a Vekoma SLC) but that extra cred was missing :/

Please tell me at least one of you sang 2Unlimited - 'No Limit' this when Limit was down...

I've got to stop reading anything you post when I'm at work, someone's gonna call a shrink soon.

^^ Brilliant. And such a missed opportunity if it didn't happen.

Time for more.

Saturday 4th April: Day Two, Heide Park & Serengeti Safari

We had a plan. As yesterday at Heide was so quiet and we'd got all the creds done we agreed we'd leave the park early and go to Serengeti Safari which we had planned to do on the Sunday...along with two other parks so we thought, to save rushing tomorrow this would be best.

We had a continental breakfast at the hotel and got to Heide Park for opening.

11021204_10205601525071839_5906757313449061628_n.jpg

It was only just above freezing so most of the rides were still shut so we found ourselves generally waiting around. We headed over to Krake but it was shut, so we went over to Flug in the hope I could finally get the hallowed front seat.

11096464_10205601529751956_1993095707193896239_n.jpg

I managed second row and it was a MUCH better ride. I really really enjoyed it, perfect intensity, perfect length, it felt great, it's a shame those back seats ruin it for me but up nearer the front it's great!

For some reason we felt like another ride on Big Loop as it hadn't been so bad the day before and as it was next door we rode that.

It wasn't as good as the day before, as it was early on it clearly hadn't had time to warm up today so felt more rattly, but still no where near as bad as I was expecting before my first ride yesterday.

We headed over to the side of the park we hadn't been to yesterday, and it was actually really nice. It had very decadent toilets.

10420408_10205601534472074_2636280303581983098_n.jpg

They were in the windmill which is also the entrance to the hotel.

The whole area just looked really nice.

As did the others.

Next we went to Stone Cold's alter ego ride, OldTimer.

There was a fountain outside and to prove how cold it was our resident geologist demonstrated the ice.

11038121_10205601548392422_1918936839543299572_n.jpg

But it all ended in tears.

11108839_10205601547152391_8518267261162083839_n.jpg

But anyway, OldTimer. You sit in an old fashioned car and drive around some decadent gazebos and greenhouses.

We got off and walked back round the park and found ourselves at the entrance. It was still really cold and Colossus and Krake, the two things we really wanted to re-ride were still closed. We decided to sack off Heide and come back later in the day after Serengeti Safari so we go in the cars and made the hour's journey to the Safari.

This next bit will include several animals. If you're looking for creds in their natural habitat instead, skip this bit.

Given that Sue was driving her own car she was happy to take it around the safari so that's what we did. As Nic and John had a hire car they thought it best to take the guided bus around the safari instead. Nearby joined them. First up, giraffes.

11115771_10205601559192692_7058961589624383087_n.jpg

And something with horns and four legs. (I'm not very good with animals).

I was reminded of a quote from Jeremy Clarkson in Top Gear, 'to them we looked like a tin of meat with the lid half off'. Great.

A peacock stood in the way and would not let us past.

11102857_10205601590993487_9045274894669735805_n.jpg

The animals kept getting close to the parking sensors on Sue's car, so an alarm would ring every time. When we got to the elephants we parked the car and got out.

We removed them from the car and made our way to the exit, back past the giraffes and eventually into the car park. Cred time! (At last).

We made our way over to Chura Racer first.

10505605_10205601610433973_3748352685093946936_n.jpg

Nothing to write home about. It was ok.

11115717_10205601613114040_8521669247398144540_n.jpg

We went off in search of the other cred. I took a selfie on the way.

10428664_10205601615154091_1123519483723568374_n.jpg

We checked a map because we couldn't find the cred anywhere. The map, whilst looking fancy, was utter s**te. Told us nothing. We found a 'you are here' map in the park and we were standing opposite where the cred should be and now stood a 'new for 2015 attraction'. Well **** ing ball bags.

11133833_10205601617514150_6734254296673930873_n.jpg

Here lies where a cred once stood which they spited WITHOUT **** TELLING US

Ugh, spite. That made the €30 entry the most I've ever paid for one cred. We were not impressed but what can you do? We drowned our sorrows with pretzel.

11133863_10205601619354196_4292464303290684395_n.jpg

We decided we'd ride the Dschungel Safari Tour which is an attraction similar to Zufari which takes in some of the actual safari. We had to walk past the chimpanzee enclosure.

1526698_10205601620194217_3940880742142524428_n.jpg

But soon we boarded the safari.

11124555_10205601623754306_1933888251377320404_n.jpg

Back through the giraffes and rhinos.

11149423_10205601626714380_2525389175598620714_n.jpg

Before getting to the best bit of the attraction. Oh no! We were under attack from lions!

11081452_10205601627794407_1626345935579230696_n.jpg

It was hilarious. The tour was obviously in German so we understood very little but we did realise the tour guide was taking the mick out of us English people...relating us to monkeys or something. We got our own back by mentioning the war.

Then a lion attacked us.

11150220_10205601629034438_2668125498437865817_n.jpg

And rhinos.

10985280_10205601637314645_334946260714181183_n.jpg

It was hilarious, we couldn't stop crying.

After that we decided it was time to head back to Heide Park for some Krake and Colossus. Yayyy.

We headed straight to Krake and we rode back.

11130152_10205601638634678_205545053318182767_n.jpg

It's not as good at the back as it is at the front but it is still a very very good dive machine, it's between Sheikra and Oblivion, those being the only three I have ridden. I really enjoyed it.

Next we headed over to Colossus but rode the other donut boat ride on the way, Marchenfahrt. Same sort of ride except this one goes in between greenhouses containing characters from different fairy tales. It's great fun guessing which they are.

11071148_10205601641354746_2451265974475726843_n.jpg

But enough of that...Colossos time!

10929056_10205601647194892_4528165184876398450_n.jpg

It was raining so I had been warned it was likely to be rougher than yesterday. I was slightly concerned that this would damage my enjoyment on the ride but was looking forward to it all the same. I rode front with Peep. Slowly clanking and clunking up the lift hill, around the top and down. OHHHH MMYYYYYY GOOSHHHHH. It's sooooo good! So much airtime. So much fun. So much pace. I loved this thing so much in the back yesterday and it is even better in the front. The helix is unfortunately what lets it down slightly, it is very rattly and a little jarring sadly but overall it is an amazing ride. I rode again, and again, loving every minute. If it wasn't for that final helix being as rough as it is, this would rival the likes of White Lightning for me but this does let it down but I love it all the same.

Time was running short by now, there was around half an hour before park close so we split up to have one or two last rides on whatever we decided. I headed over to Flug because I wanted to get that front row seat I was so desperate to get. Annoyingly it still didn't happen but I got second row again on the right side which I still really really enjoy so it is up there in my rankings...just below Swarm I think. Realising we still had 10 minutes, it was Krake's turn for a reride. Front row and it was beautiful, the hang at the top looking into the ship's 'mouth' is amazing. And a little spray from the water brake. In fact, we rode again at the front, last ride of the day. It was great, really enjoyable.

I really liked Heide Park. A great selection of coasters, even Big Loop was alright! There are parts of the park which are beautiful, like the lake looking over at the 2 B&Ms, the maze of white and green coasters that are Flug, Bobbhan, Limit and Big Loop, the huge Colossus on the other side, but there are parts of the park in need of some tender loving care and this does let the park as a whole down.

We headed back to the hotel for some food. I had a delicious schnitzel and a pint of some German bier.

11134000_10205601648954936_4283396475016206985_n.jpg

Annoyingly I don't have a picture of the Hawaiian style schnitzel but it was very nice.

We had a choice to make, given the spite of Hamburger Dom yesterday did we embark on the hour journey tonight and try again? Sue, Stone Cold and I decided there was only one choice, YES! So the three of us went back to Hamburg in search of creds. I'd never been to a German fair (well, an open one ;) ) so was really looking forward to it.

LIGHTS!

11025637_10205601650354971_912475965455955032_n.jpg

It looked spectacular! We saw TestsTrecke straight away and Wilde Maus XXL in the distance but has a wander round first to see if there were any kiddie creds as these might close early as it was quite late already and there were very few kids around. We were greeted by a spectacular sight.

11136627_10205601653915060_5742199933613031587_n.jpg

Kuddel der Hai. Stone Cold immediately agreed and went and kuddeled der Hai. It had the same layout as a big apple, we were just grateful for the +1!

First time I'd seen a travelling rapids!

I'd heard that there was more than one Wilde Maus XXL on the travelling circuit, I'd obviously ridden one at Hyde Park's Winter Wonderland a couple of years back but we decided to ride anyway, just in case...plus it was only €4.

10527390_10205601661795257_6914304870287220621_n.jpg

I liked the ticket booth with the moving coaster car and mice. That certainly wasn't in London!

10174955_10205601662595277_3847632654894102458_n.jpg

The ride itself was fab, thoroughly enjoyable. I can hardly remember it from the last time I rode it (I have now decided they were the same), smooth, well paced, frightening in the right ways. Really happy we decided to ride.

We made our way round the rest of the fair. Stone Cold tried to become Stone Warm.

10561775_10205601663875309_537038023695599492_n.jpg

Next up, axe throwing! We all decided to give it a go, when else will we get the chance?

Stone Cold was very good, getting three out of the five into the board. I have footage which I'll post when I upload to YouTube.

I went next. I was surprised how well I did, I still only got three in but I was consistent.

She didn't get any in the bear. Ahh well, better luck next time :p

TestsTrecke was waiting and that was the main reason we had come back. Have some more photos of the fair.

11133855_10205601680515725_4795436917509834916_n.jpg

I have never gone upside down on a travelling coaster so was looking forward to it! It was only €4!

10923386_10205601683475799_917928352961068709_n.jpg

It was really enjoyable! I was expecting it to be rough as sin but it was actually quite good. The lift hill felt bloody high, and it was cold and windy but it was great fun, the loops were quite tight but overall enjoyable. Really glad we made the effort to come here, it's great for what it is. I now cannot wait for Olympia Looping in October.

Next we decided to have a go on one of the fun houses as the Germans know how to make a good funhouse! I only have this poor quality photo of it.

11150245_10205601673515550_2103848365426112279_n.jpg

It took a while to get round and there was a lot to do and fall over on. At the top you had a choice, slide down or take a small drop tower. Slide it was...but not before some selfies.

Sue was first to slide.

11146219_10205601739917210_7167977693735592008_n.jpg

Followed by me and eventually Stone Cold.

10303731_10205601741677254_2454066615017911225_n.jpg

It was an awful slide, not at all slippery, it was too tight to get any real speed which was a shame.

As I'd never ridden one and Sue and Stone Cold hadn't for many years, we decided to ride the Rotor. I know it spun really fast and you basically stick to the wall. I have never laughed so much, it was amazing. I stuck with relative ease, as did Sue and Stone Cold at first, but as the floor got lower Stone Cold slowly sunk lower and lower, the expression was priceless. Sue and I were laughing just seeing the thing that is Stone Cold hovering an inch off the ground wondering what the **** was going on. I loved it, such a good laugh.

Before we left I decided Bratwurst and glußwein had to happen as it was my first German fair.

The bratwurst was alright, the glußwein...wasn't. It was awful.

It was now virtually midnight and we still had an hour drive back to the hotel so we called it a night. We got to the hotel just after 1am, Neal let us in the front door, the three of us were in different rooms and had left our keys with our respective partners so no one had a front door key.

I had a really good day, Hamburger Dom was such great fun and I'd managed 3 new creds over the day. Thank you very much for reading as always. Day 3 was a bit of a mixture with two parks and another fair. That will be up soon!
