The only reason I can think of that it might be profiled like that, except for a partially-blind designer, is maybe so you experience less positive G's going down than you do on a normal dive drop?

I think it's designed to pull a longer duration of 0g / hangtime when compared with normal dive drops.

I do think that people are forgetting that this is 144ft tall and 1,600ft long. It's not THAT small - it's just that some of the inversions make it look smaller than it actually is.
