What's new

Formula 1 2009

That last lap was really interesting and fun to watch, great job Vettel!!

Very clear that the top 3 are light, great job by Vettel though.

But lets see who gets a penalty for blocking Kovy.

It was Beuni that held up Kovy by looks of it.

The thing in the race will be the tyres, and Brawn are very good on them.

Alonso got 2nd on tyres he said were a joke lol.

Mike is so small, either that or the others are really tall it looks funny.

Kubica was a one season wonder as I always thought he was, totally over rated.

Yup! And if it wasn't for Lewis not stopping at a red light and taking out Kimi, he wouldn't even be a race winner

They are predicting rain for the race tomorrow and if it happens along with that grid, it should produce a very interesting race.

Hope the two Red Bulls have a good race and I can't wait to see what their race performance will be like.

The weights have been released, and the RB cars + Alonso were about 15 kg lighter then the rest (only 5 kg lighter then Nico) of the final session, so that would explain their pace.
But seeing that Vettel have fresher tires due to the low number of laps he drove during qualifying then he still have some extra bite in the race even if the other can stay out longer. And with a chance of rain then this race will be very interesting.

Provisional grid + weights:
Code:
1. Sebastian Vettel, Red Bull, 644kg
2. Fernando Alonso, Renault, 637
3. Mark Webber, Red Bull, 646.5
4. Rubens Barrichello, Brawn GP, 661
5. Jenson Button, Brawn GP, 659
6. Jarno Trulli, Toyota, 664.5
7. Nico Rosberg, Williams, 650.5
8. Kimi Raikkonen, Ferrari, 673.5
9. Lewis Hamilton, McLaren, 679
10. Sebastien Buemi, Toro Rosso, 673
11. Nick Heidfeld, BMW Sauber, 679
12. Heikki Kovalainen, McLaren, 697
13. Felipe Massa, Ferrari, 690
14. Kazuki Nakajima, Williams, 682.7
15. Sebastien Bourdais, Toro Rosso, 690
16. Nelson Piquet, Renault, 697.9
17. Robert Kubica, BMW Sauber, 659
18. Adrian Sutil, Force India, 648
19. Timo Glock, Toyota, 652
20. Giancarlo Fisichella, Force India, 679.5

Should be an interesting race thats for sure.

It'll be interesting to see what Button can do when he's not on poll...

And will Kovalainen finally get more than about 1 lap in!

Boo Alonso! :(

I wouldn't count on it, he's stuck in the midfield and someone in there is always taken out at turn 1.

I just wonder if RBR will even finish the race, they have had nothing but problems all weekend. Typical Newy car really, fast but weak.

All Brawn need to do is stay in touch and the race is theirs really due to the fuel loads. The plan might be to hold them up though.

At last a bit of sense from (S&)Mosley, he does not want standard KURSE, sorry KERS, next year.

Should be a good race, Fantastic that Vettel got pole, amazing last few moments of qualifying.

Shame about the safety car in the beginning, but it's shaping up to be an awesome race.

Well done Sebastian! One of the very few drivers that wanted it to start without the boring safety car, and he won! Fair play to him.

I still feel the Brawn is the best in the dry, but if it rains as Brundle says "Red Bull gives you floats!"

Heikki outclassed Lewis who spent more time facing backwards than forwards

Shame about Felipe he was doing really well and Kimi's engine was buggered from very early on *tuts*

So I suppose I should open up a celebratory energy drink

Truly epic race, the Red Bulls were completely outclassing the rest of the cars. Shame about Ferrari, but more so that Sutil lost it, I was really rooting for him before he crashed.

Now just one week to Bahrain, so we could finally enjoy some sunshine during the race!!

What a race, Vettel was amazing, I was also once again impressed with Buemi, some brilliant overtaking from him. I also love how he is completely outclassing Bourdais, if Bourdais carries on like this he won't have a seat next year.

I felt so sorry for Sutil, he had a good chance of scoring points for Force India.

Also Nelson Piquet Jr is ****ing useless, there are already rumors floating around that Takuma Sato and Di Grassi are being considered as replacements for him. He's also an arrogant twat.

What a crazy race from what I could see of it. Most of the time I was watching mist which kind of ruined things for me. At least there were loads in incidents, close racing and a good outcome in the end for Vittel and the Red Bull team.

Funny that I never new the Red Bull team were British until I heard the anthem. I always thought they were Austrian.

The team is supposedly Austrian yes, as that is where Red Bull comes from. However as they are based in Milton Keynes they use the British national anthem, much like Benetton used to despite being an Italian constructor.

Yeah, Piquet is crap.
Change him for Sato please, since he is awesome!!
