Forbidden Rush | USA CF-Live | Trip Reports

After many thinkings, Zeus and Phoenix are better than Boulderdash in my oppinion. Don't get me wrong, it was actually fun and enjoyable to ride but it's not facepunchingly amazing.

ahh yes - the only hotel where you need a satnav to get out..... :D

just doing my counts - and I got 101 coasters on the trip, despite the spite!

I lied - it was actually 100 - I'd counted stinger - naughty me!

Marcus, I never said it wasn't good, but after all the hype I was just a bit disappointed. It's not a big deal or anything, it was still a fun coaster, but I do understand that coasters have days where they don't run as well and this happened to be one.

That's exactly what I meant though. I was just pointing out why. You did say:

I don’t understand why people bum it so much

^ But even with the layout it has, I can't see it beating out Voyage or El Toro for my top two spots even if it were living up to full potential. Either way, I don't think it has anything to do with aging, I just think it had to do with the weather being crap that day etc.

There's more on my Facebook, but you guys can go find them yourself. Enjoy!

Trip report time then! This is going to take a while with 9 days of stuff to cover. I'm also going to do this slightly differently to my normal TRs as they seem to take an age to type up!

So...

Day 1 - The Flight and Lake Compounce

The alarm sounded at 5am, I was so excited! The trip was finally on top of us. It didn't take long to get out the house, and when I did I was soon at New Street ready to start the trip.
A short hop to Reading on the train, then a quick coach down to Heathrow and I'd arrived at T5. The words beyond excited seem to fit in here!

Pretty much as I got to the airport, I had a text saying the rest of the group on the flight to Boston that morning were going to be half hour late because guess what... Sue.

The guys arrived and scared the **** out of me. We checked in, went through security, got food and headed for the gate. Dan arrived at this point.
We boarded the plane and the excitement well and truly set in.

We had an uber gooney moment of comparing goon sheets just as we took of and shouting about what coasters we were most excited about.
The flight soon got tiresome and it did actually feel like 7 very long hours on the plane. Eventually, we started our decent into a wet, dreary Boston.

Landed, 45 minutes later we were walking through the arrivals door straight into the guys who had been at the airport for hours! We headed for the car hire place. Stone Cold ran to the Dodge in the lot shouting "Mine"! Much amusement!

Driving out of Boston was fun. I think we all took the wrong turn and ended up back in Boston. Soon enough we were on the way. There was some insane rain on the way to Lake Compounce and we couldn't see **** all out the windows!

The dodge was first to arrive, the Swedes not far behind and Sue... bringing up the rear. The 7 of us there got fed up of waiting, so headed in! The after 4pm rate was great, I would not liked to have paid any more for that park!

As we were queueing for BD, Sue arrived and we saw Jerry, Kim, Jer & Aidan heading up BD's lift!

If you don't like Boulder Dash being criticised, then don't read on!

So then Boulder Dash, one of the coasters I had been most looking forward to after seeing all the great reviews it gets.
Have to say, was very dissapointed by the coaster! The first ride was sluggish, there wasn't a great deal of airtime or speed that the ride was so famous for! It was certainly missing that afternoon! After grabbing the other coasters, we stayed on BD for a while.
It did improve quite a lot as the rest of the evening progressed, but still, I was very underwhelmed by it. If we did get it on a bad day, then I'd like to see it on a good day. But I'm quite skeptical as to whether we did get it on a bad day or not. I'm not the biggest woodie fan anyway, and after those 5/6 rides, I failed to see why it gets the hype it does!
Was very nice of the park to give us the last train of the day on it though! That was probably the best ride I had on it! It certainly hasn't made my Top 10! It'll be in my Top 20 though! :p

Next coaster was Wildcat! Owch is all I can say for it. The first drop tried to mold your spine into a new shape and the rest of the ride tried to keep it like that! Didn't rate it at all and was quite glad when the train rolled back into the station!

Finally was Zoomerang. My 200th cred and the only way to do a milestone! It was actually one of the better Boomerangs out there too. Surprisingly quite forceful and best of all, smooth!

Onto the photos then!

The plane that'll take me across the pond to the land of many coasters.

If it wasn't for the Shot Tower, you'd have no idea that you were actually at a theme park!

Wildcat greets you as you enter the park.

First coaster of the trip...

One of the few bits of the coaster that you can actually see!

Headed over to this now.

269225_3853325168291_1348902984_n.jpg

Such a pain machine! It can be burned to the ground for all I care. :p

Next stop, my 200th coaster!

575894_3853321608202_1259513480_n.jpg

At least it was one of the better Boomerangs for a milestone coaster!

556452_3853325608302_969243634_n.jpg

Time to whore this until the park closed then!

And back home! Mind that trim :p

8025_3853328728380_1825915355_n.jpg

Night was setting in now, blurry happened!

We called it a day then! I wasn't very impressed with Lake Compounce at all, not somewhere I'd return to in a hurry or pay the $40 entrance fee for all day admission! The free drinks are a nice touch though!

We had planned on heading over to Quassy which they had advertised on their website as open until 10! We got there at 9 to find it long shut. It seems that they closed early because of the little bit of drizzle that was around the area that night!
So instead we headed for the first of many Subways of the trip, then to the hotel in which you needed a map to navigate!

DAY 3- Six Flags New England

The day started off with a short drive to the park, missing the parking lot entrance (courtesy of BURDENOUS SUE <3 ), and also taking a very lazy trolley ride to the entrance gate. While we waited for the others, I had to use the opportunity to take a picture with two very awesome people who were my car buddies for the entire trip <3

249059_10151800068300343_1204941824_n.jpg

I had a bit of bad luck when we got into the park, firstly because I got my hairspray confiscated which was extremely annoying, secondly because it took me a while to get my pass since the camera decided to malfunction and the lady needed a password to reset it </3 But soon enough, we were in!

217857_10151800069905343_421925352_n.jpg

First ride of the day was Goliath, the GIB from Magic Mountain. I always wanted to ride one of these, so I was pretty excited despite the long queue.

292145_10151800072290343_708527127_n.jpg

I apologize for the bad quality of my pictures, but instead of “point and shoot” I tend to “walk and shoot” so as not to fall behind, so they seem to turn out a bit blurry :p .

555253_10151800074035343_1699338266_n.jpg

In line, I decided I wanted to take a picture with Richard. As you can tell, he was VERY impressed to be taking a photo with me <3

If you look closely you can see some CFers at the front of the train!

182820_10151800078260343_467017520_n.jpg

I actually really enjoyed it, and the towers were kind of scary! I screamed, not that that’s really a shocker. After the GIB, there was more Boomerang action to be had, so we went to the regular boomerang in the park. Too much boomerang in such a short period of time!

600084_10151800079645343_1208964941_n.jpg

It wasn’t too bad though!

Then it was time for Pandemonium, which was not as good as Dragon’s Fury, but still fun.

575916_10151800081635343_942464864_n.jpg

Love the colours of the logo <3

389290_10151800083175343_710596311_n.jpg

When we got off Pandemonium, pandemonium occurred! There was bench tipping action, and bag hiding action, courtesy of the obnoxious one, and if you can’t guess who that is, you’re not very bright :p .

579760_10151800085720343_27735201_n.jpg

Richard looking smug as Ciall struggled to get his bag back!

We did the rapids after, which were actually really fun with some Titanic times thrown in there! Didn’t get too wet on those, but as I would find out, getting off rapids dry was not something that would continue throughout the entirety of the trip.

Because we are a bunch of masochists, we thought it would be fun to ride Catapult.

551074_10151800086130343_1025264675_n.jpg

AJ had a gooood time with ride operator Lindsay, who basically told him they couldn’t fix the restraints to get the button on his pants from being unstabbed into his hips, so AJ said he wanted off the ride. They released the restraints, and like a boss, AJ said he wanted to stay on <3 Then, he was accused of being a liar and a scheme plotter by the op <3

306973_10151800091725343_997355008_n.jpg

After the horrifying experience of Catapult, we rode a good woodie with poor operations!

We were hungry at this point, so we got Panda Express, which was delicious as usual! I must have been really hungry, because I knocked it all off pretty quickly.

547545_10151800092320343_1954290651_n.jpg

After lunch it was kiddie credit time!

Andre had way too much fun!

246582_10151800096200343_1176041080_n.jpg

We rode a wooden coaster after that, which was also quite good, but I got no pictures of it.

Bizarro was next on the agenda, but after the disappointment of Boulder Dash, I wasn’t expecting too much!

Fortunately, I was very wrong! Even though we had to wait through a bit of stormy weather, it was way worth it! This picture sums up my thoughts about Bizarro:

479706_10151800102470343_1550197488_n.jpg

Two big thumbs up (yes, I know my thumbs are weird and hideous), and it sits nicely in my top five.

These two creds-of-mediocrity were next:

11784_10151800104650343_290741139_n.jpg

The SLC was pretty bad, but that was to be expected really. Dark Knight was probably one of the most dull B&M coasters I have ever been on, but it wasn’t necessarily a bad ride, just very boring.

We had to take the opportunity to get Richard’s picture in front of Cold Stone.

481362_10151800105265343_493030978_n.jpg

Two more creds were needed: Catwoman’s Whip, and the Gotham City Gauntlet.

We had another re-ride on Bizarro, and then we wanted yet another one, so we all got back in line. Sadly, it started down pouring so a few of us opted out and played dance games instead.

543305_10151800111370343_415376132_n.jpg

After going to the tat shop and walking in the rain, we finally made it to the trolley, where we had a CF-takeover of the back of the bus.

253271_10151800112340343_80017777_n.jpg

We had a long drive to NYC that night, which turned out to be very frustrating, and our car didn’t arrive until about an hour after the other cars. We got a bit lost, and almost got in an accident from nearly skidding off the road, but at least there’s never a dull moment in Sue’s car! The bad luck was just beginning, but I’ll save that for the next part of the report!

The end!

Wish I were there, looks like you guys had I great time.

I like the support porn (literally), Marcus, it's quite... Intresting :p
