Europa Park |"Wodan"| GCI Wood

Re: GCI Wooden Coaster - Europa Park 2012

^Humph.

So my brothers went on the same trip as me and managed to get to go to Europa and I won't. :(

Re: GCI Wooden Coaster - Europa Park 2012

...Is no one really that excited about this then? This topic is a bit... dead.

GCIs are a bit his and miss with me, and even the ones I really like are clearly not all that well received and rated. It won't have to try very hard in Europe to stand out either, so it does worry me that it'll just be boring and no matter how much I try and think otherwise, the fact that every single coaster I've been on at the park is sub-par is a concern too. I'm sure I'd like Bluefire, but even that doesn't look that good to me, but we'll see. I think next year will be time to seriously consider getting back to Europa.

GCI Wooden Coaster - Europa Park 2012

I was until I saw the whole layout or lack of it. It looks good as in looks but it does not do that much just like most of the rides there.

Would like to go back though and not be tired so I can enjoy the park.

Re: GCI Wooden Coaster - Europa Park 2012

The only criticism I have is that it looks a bit short. I'm hoping the epic drop will make up for that though.

Re: GCI Wooden Coaster - Europa Park 2012

I think it'll be enough to make me finally go to Europa Park.

Thanks to whoever posted the construction update.

Re: GCI Wooden Coaster - Europa Park 2012

I know theres a little bit of doubt behind this ride when it comes to how people are going to judge it, but I am really excited for it and I think it will be fantastic! I havent ridden many GCI's, but all of the ones that I have are all the older ones (wildcat, roar, lightning racer). I quite liked all of them and GCI have come a long way since then!
Eg look at Prowler. Hmmmmm.

Re: GCI Wooden Coaster - Europa Park 2012

Wow, some fantastic construction photos on there!

I hadn't seen the photo of the model before either, I think it looks so graceful, and I'm loving the interaction with the log flume.

Re: GCI Wooden Coaster - Europa Park 2012

^ You mean the Mack Supersplash I presume??

The images of the first drop look really lush, any GCI looks great from most angles, it's the smooth supports that really makes it for me...

Ahh yes, I guess it must be.

God Sue! How dare you confuse an ambiguous model of a Mack SuperSplash with a log flume?! What are you, some sort of moron?

I'm just looking forward to this being completed. We don't have nearly enough wood this side of the pond, and it's exciting to see Europe still interested in buying one. Hopefully the more publicity the mainland Europe wooden coasters score, the more likely the Brits will wake up and smell the timber.

Re: GCI Wooden Coaster - Europa Park 2012

^^ no there isnt. But on coasterforce insults are always added to whatever someone wants to say. Haha.

But Sue, yes I am too really liking the layout even though it is fairly short and excited for this for next year.

Re: GCI Wooden Coaster - Europa Park 2012

Wow, that tunnel entrance looks really tight from that angle. There will be quite a sequence of headchoppers as that drop goes through the supports into that.

Re: GCI Wooden Coaster - Europa Park 2012

^It's going to be even better when the lift hill is in place. You're going to be able to see so little! :p
