Europa Park | Voltron | Mack Rides Stryker Coaster | 2024

Official real world POV!
Does interest me that the POV starts at the base of the 1st launch, can wait to see what's between the station & 1st launch
Turntable has it’s effects turned off too. Can clearly see that there’s ‘stuff’ in there, but they’re saving the reveal for the big day(s.)

Looks like the love child of Helix and The Smiler.

… Smi-lix? 🥴

🎶 Duh duh duh duh duhhhhh… HAaaa Haaaa! 🎶
Definitely getting Smiler vibes from it…

Might bump into you today, look out for a Nemesis Reborn hoodie and say hi if you spot us…

What is this staggered opening all about? 🙈😂

Tried to reply to this but my signal wouldn’t let me!

Think I mayyy have been right next to you then and didn’t realise! Were you guys in the station when Taron went down the second time at around 16:30 or so? If so, my partner and I were in the air gates for the front row when it happened! We gave up eventually though but managed to get two more rides on it in later on luckily. Hope you had a good day!

There is an effect scene before the 1st launch however they are having issues getting it to work. Likely might be a while by the sounds of it.

With regard to shakiness have heard from a few lucky preview riders so far there is quite the rattle, especially on the outer seats, however they all were still very very positive about the coaster and say it is incredible.

If the footage isn't sped up, than that first launch is really punchy for a Mack. I'm going to be at Phantasialand tomorrow, so I'm slightly regretting that I am not staying longer and going down to rust on Friday. I'm sure I'll be back at Europa soon enough. Looks amazing 😀

This does look incredible, and something that Europa has needed in the sense of a 'world class' coaster.

Their thrill roller coaster line up is very good, but this looks outstanding.

We were in the 2nd and 3rd row’s air gates when it broke down, so definitely us. The rest ditched me to ride something else, I stayed, they started testing the second they left the station. 🙈😂

There’s been quite a few little niggles today, and ride availability issues… Not something I’ve experienced a lot of In Germany before, never mind Phantasialand. What’s happening? :/

Uhrwerk was nowhere near as nice as usual this evening either. Still nice enough, but just didn’t have that wow factor that it’s had on my last 3 stays. :/

Anyway… I gotta stop moaning… I must be turning into a right miserable old git.

Today was the official press conference. Apparently, the effect track prior to the first launch is now active as well. Btw: Roland Mack mentioned that the current visitor limit for Europapark is ~35,000 people, not including Croatia.

Interesting observation that was pointed out to me

The POV shows some slightly concerning wear patterns on the track which alternate significantly from side to side between the rails.

Maybe more obvious here.

Possibly Indicates the rattle is more than just camera shake but the whole train moving it's weight from side to side.

How are wear patterns concerning? It happens to every coaster? It seems like recently that every new coaster has to have some kind of doubt about its manufacturing. Its Mack Rides! They aren’t going to spend this much on an investment then happen to discover it’s too stressful for the track/trains.

All I’ve heard from reviews today is that it is intense. Maybe this is just what happens with rides that deliver the forces Voltron does. I think the engineers know what they are doing..

^ I don't think anyone's insinuating that it's too stressful for the track/trains, rather that the trains seem like they shuffle/rattle side to side a lot more than usual for a new Mack coaster.

Which happens, plenty of manufacturers that deliver smooth coasters have one or two that are rough and rattly from new for seemingly no reason, doesn't mean the engineers didn't know what they were doing or that it's unsafe.

Yeah pretty much all the reviews I’ve heard so far from friends is it has a really noticeable and odd rattle. Didn’t ruin it for any of them they all agree it is incredible nonetheless. But certainly it is not as smooth as Mack want it to be atm.

I won't lie, the lack of onboard audio has saddened me a little, they showed off a fantastic piece of music that goes with the layout perfectly and we don't get to hear it whilst on ride!

Does look rather incredible though. The preshow effects before the launch are goofy as hell but I like it, it's different! I think what I love most is the big atrium in the queue though, you can see people in the station lit fantastically through the windows and it seems you can also see(ish) the launch in there, really well thought out design. Can't wait to visit once it's grown in a bit, and hopefully they can sort the rattle issue out!

Oh dear :(

I hope it's sorted for tomorrow for Nicky et al!
