which means there IS a possibility life can be somewhere else (even if the chance of us coming to be is 0.00000001%.. that tiny chance could mean millions of planet Earths existing in the universe).
Yes, a possibility, but Furie was all like noo omg it has to be 100% concrete evidence before I believe in it!
Yes, but you're still not understanding. I believe in the possibility based on 100% concrete evidence. There is life in the universe - ergo, mathematically the possibility there is other life is very high.
I believe in the possibility, not in the actual life. I also believe in the possibility of ghosts - it's just that the possibility factor is so minute, it's got to be ignored. Don't mix up a belief in a mathematical possibility with an actual belief in the thing that is mathematically possible

Guess what guys? I still believe in ghosts, you guys don't. These posts are getting us nowhere
. I've always been interested in paranormal things, even when I was little so, it's something I'll always believe in.
To be fair Taylor, it's not about changing your mind - it's about trying to open it a little.
When I was your age, I certainly believed in ghosts and the paranormal. I'd even tell you I'd had paranormal experiences.
It's fine, when you're young you still live in a world which is quite fantastic. You have a very small experience of the world, so can imagine a lot into it. It's a big world, and you're small (in relative terms) and young - it's easy to imagine there's a lot out there that is possible. That's fine, it's one of the brilliant things about being young.
Also, you can see your whole life spread out ahead of you, and all the possibilities available to you. Certainly one thing you don't want to confront is an end to that. You don't want to face getting old, getting boring and dying.
Essentially, this is what we're shoving in your face now
Not everyone matures to the point where they realise that life IS all about getting old, boring and then dying. They still hold onto the fantasy that there's more to life. Are they right or wrong?
Well, it doesn't actually matter to be honest, but I've had it with people who spend their lives at 40 sitting around smoking pot, discussing which type of fairy is currently in the room and how that picture is haunted. At some point, it becomes very tedious and you do just want people to grow up
A little fantasy is a good thing, and it's certainly the domain of the young. Just remember, that bit of scepticism though - it's always worth it
For me, at some point, I realised that life is fantastic enough in real terms - fantasy isn't needed. We can get fantastic physical, mental and emotional payback out of life and people - without having to hunt for anything fantastic. Human beings are an incredible race, that achieve incredible things. The Earth is full of natural wonders that boggle the mind and please the eye.
There's so much brilliance available in real terms that I think (personally) should be explored and enjoyed first before we even need to start looking at things that don't exist. By doing that, you miss the real stuff looking for something that isn't there. It's like daydreaming about being at an imaginary theme park while you're at a theme park. You miss the fun of now for something ethereal.
Erm, yeah - that's pretty much how my mind set altered (some time in my 20's) where I stopped believing in all things fantastic, and started living for the things that are worth living for
I guess that's just so you've got some point of reference and understanding - I'm not just a staid old fart trying to ruin your fun
