What's new

College and Classes

University: Cambridge
Year: Between 2nd/3rd
Subject: Engineering (will specialise in mechanical 3rd year)
3rd year Modules: Fluid dynamics I/II (both doubles), Dynamics, Vibration, Mechanics of solids, Finite Element Methods, Partial Differential Equations and some fluffy business module that we have to have for accreditation... whatever feels the least work.
Aspiration: Not got any big plans, but wouldn't mind working in academia (though I'm probably nowhere near intelligent enough for that).

Social dance? So random, haha.

MTU realizes how many fat students are up there, so they require three PE credits for most majors. A few of my female friends(who are attractive, just FYI) are in the class and asked me to take it with them.

Ladies...

^Get it.

I'm assuming social dance (if talking about what they consider popular and what people do now) is simply guys standing with arms above heads and girls grinding up and down like they are a stripper pole, then I repeat, get some.

Madame_Furie got her degree (also first class) in Business IT and did a part time stint at McDonalds and nothing since. It's a great use of a degree

Get Education to survive in real world. Go to real world and get rejected and stuck in job that doesn't need skills obtained.

Or in my case, Get IT qualifications, go to get a job, get rejected by Job Seekers...

I went to Youngstown State University for a year and effectively dropped out. Why pay a lot of money to work at where I would now more than likely?

Although, I went to bartending school (in Pittsburgh) graduated (huzzah mixology) and have gotten turned down for all jobs in regards to bartending (Youngstown, Boardman, Austintown area. For those not in the know, Midway ish point between Kennywood and where Geauga Lake used to be). So til I move Im stuck doing Burger King and warehouse work handleing machines that cost far too much money (5k+).

Yay edumaction!

I go to Marshall University in Huntington, WV.
My major is Safety Technology, and I'm a senior now. I should graduate in December of 2014.

First semester of my junior year at Michigan Tech:

Economic Decision Analysis
Circuits and Instrumentation w/ Lab
Consumer Product Manufacturing (enterprise meeting)
Statistics
Product Realization I
Intro to Psychology
Beginning Ice Skating

That amounts to 16.5 credits. I'm still dead set on mechanical engineering.

Sophomore at Wright State University in Dayton majoring in mechanical engineering. Got calc 1, physics, political science, and existentialism (blegh!) coming at me the 28th...

Plumbing first year.

Hoping my experience of constructing custom coaster supports in RCT3 will help me with scaffolding.

I´m studying Mobile Computing at the University of Applied Sciences in a small city in Germany called Bingen. I´m in my first year now and maybe I´ll get to work with Coasters when I´m done, would be cool :D

I'm working on Engineering prerequisites at Bellevue College. I guess I'm technically a Sophomore by this point. Hoping to transfer to University of Washington, college of engineering next Fall.

Nearly the end of the autumn semester now, but got exams in January so I guess they still count. In my final year now, which all seems very scary! It's also amazingly stressful trying to juggle all of these modules and my final year project. Anyway, along with my project this semester, I'm doing:

-Reciproacting Engines
-Signal Processing and Instrumentation
-Structural Vibration: Analysis and Practice
-Tribology of Machine Elements

And as if anyone cares, my project title is:
"Design and development of a wave compensating crane for materials handling on/near water"

I'm interested, sounds like a cool thing :)

I did some work once for the National Centre for Tribology. Best ology there is :)
