Have they never heard of Helix, Manta, Full Throttle etc? A complete and utter false claim, much worse than anything Alton have done!
 
Yeah that's piss poor.

On the advert though, I actually really like it. The pink blossom's stand out a bit but on the whole, it's quite good.
 
The advert made me think of a sky sports montage, a bit too over the top :p
The 'world's first' thing, if that's real is very, very awkward. Then again, how long did they say PMBO was the tallest and fastest in Europe for?
 
The whois for the competition is a social media agency, so they've probably overblown the claim without thinking about it, without BPB say so. Maybe? I don't know, but it seems odd that their in-house stuff is consistent and the one bit from outside PBB is different
 
The Thompson's have been talking about Icon being the "World's best roller coaster", I don't know how they'd go about that with advertisements.

From a tender they put out about a year ago they've hired an agency to do all the Icon stuff. I'm not entirely sure it's working out well for them!

Holiday Park did that with EGF for quite a while and their only source (I think) was the Mitch Hawker poll?
If there was an IMDB rating type thing for coasters, Icon would probably be VERY high up for the rest of this year.

Let's not even forget Irn Bru Revolution... literally within the same park. :p

Am I the only one that missed the apparently Asian theme to this ride? Like, could BPB have done a worse job in marketing this roller coaster?

You mean like how Avengers: Infinity War is currently rated on IMDB as a better movie than One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest and Goodfellas, that kinda thing? o_O
