Spite Down Under – Australia and New Zealand 2024

I’m surprised to hear that Warner Bros Movie World has such in-depth loose article and safety policies, I must admit. Do they scan you through a metal detector, or are you still able to take loose articles into the queue if you have zip pockets (e.g. cargo pockets)? On another note, it sounds...

    Hersheypark | Twizzlers Twisted Gravity | S&S Screamin' Swing | 2025

Serengeti Flyer at Busch Gardens Tampa was running both arms on the one occasion I did it, although it was admittedly still “new for 2023” then. Rush at Thorpe Park also usually seems to run both arms, from my experience. I’m glad to see Screamin’ Swings still popping up! I’m not a huge lover...

    Alton Towers New Flat Ride?

Ripsaw was always quite popular, particularly as a spectator ride… perhaps they’re trying to repeat a previously proven formula? I don’t think it would be cost related seeing as they’re going to all the effort of building a new concrete platform. That does seem like a slightly odd decision when...

PortAventura | Ferrari Land | New Area

This is a tad off topic compared to the discussion, but it’s quite interesting having this thread bumped 7 years after the park opened and seeing what everyone had to say when it was being built. Given some of the abysmally low expectations aired in this thread at the time, I actually think Red...

Has anyone on here done any coding/computer programming?

Hi guys. With computers and technology becoming ever more important parts of our lives, a skill that I’d argue is becoming more important and desirable is computer programming. All of the technology around us will have had coders developing it, so coding is a valuable skill to know in the modern...

Kingda Ka and Green Lantern's removal for new 2026 record-breaking coaster

I thought Superman was currently closed and has been for a few months?

Kingda Ka and Green Lantern's removal for new 2026 record-breaking coaster

Given its age, I’d be surprised if it wasn’t destined for the scrap heap at this point. It’s 27 years old; they likely wouldn’t be a million years away from needing to do work to it anyway if it was relocated.

    New rides @ small parks

I know it’s not a “park”, but I still thought this might be of interest to some of our cred runners… While I generally don’t ride them, I know some on here are partial to a good kiddie coaster, so I just thought I’d let you all know that for any members from Wales or South West England...

I’m questioning if I’m a real coaster enthusiast or not

By definition, being an enthusiast simply requires you to be enthusiastic about something. So if you’re enthusiastic about theme parks @Jarret Stroud, you’re definitely a “proper enthusiast”! There’s no definition of enthusiast beyond simply being enthusiastic; it doesn’t matter how much you’ve...

    WTF Merlin?

For clarity, this appears to be referring to Studios North, the Merlin theming manufacturing studio based at Alton Towers, rather than the Merlin Magic Making design division. Merlin Studios were apparently notorious for overcharging for theming compared to external suppliers, and they may not...

    Planet Coaster 2 Announcement

Planet Coaster 2 released on 6th November, for those not aware. I've had my first play about with the game this evening on PC, and while I have only played for a few hours, I've certainly got some preliminary thoughts! The Good: The graphics are much improved compared to the original, with a...

Six Flags / Cedar Fair Merger Announced

Maybe Merlin could buy some, if they wanted to increase their foothold in the US market? The company was said to have been interested in the Busch Gardens parks in the past, so it wouldn’t be wholly surprising to me if they did end up buying other US parks. Although Resort Theme Parks...

US Election; what are your thoughts?

One thing I hope is that some of the more extreme things Trump has come out with are just talk, like in 2016. He strikes me as someone who often opens his mouth before engaging his brain and says things for the sake of saying them. In the 2016 campaign, he said a lot of extreme things that...

US Election; what are your thoughts?

Interestingly, it’s looking as though Trump is going to accomplish something that he didn’t even accomplish in 2016 and win the popular vote, with him currently leading over Harris by 4%. Associated Press have now officially declared Pennsylvania as having been won by Trump, so I think we’ve...

US Election; what are your thoughts?

So, folks… US election night is here! It’s been a very interesting campaign, but it all comes to a head tonight! So with the two being pretty much neck and neck in the polls, who do you think will win? Personally, I’d say that while I wouldn’t be surprised by any outcome given how close the...

    Rookburgh (including F.L.Y) @ Phantasialand

Astonishing work @Trax; that’s beautiful! I must ask, however; how did you get the flying Vekoma track style with launches in the game? I thought the only flying coaster was a B&M and the only inverted ride type with a launch functionality was the impulse coaster?

    Top 10(ish): 2024 Edition - page 124

I’ve heard a lot about Wild Train lately, but is it really that good? I’d never heard much about it before and I assumed it was only a small PAX kiddie coaster, so I’m quite curious about it after hearing a fair amount of hype recently…

Kingda Ka and Green Lantern's removal for new 2026 record-breaking coaster

It seems quite ludicrous to me that they might just casually remove two major coasters at the end of the season without warning, one of which is the world’s tallest roller coaster. I know Six Flags Great Adventure has a lot of coasters, but won’t losing two headline coasters, including an...
