Scarefest 2011 was ruined by torrential downpours. I don't recall Alton closing any of the coasters that evening, either. One thing I will say, Rita is bloody horrible in the rain. Never again!

I'm not one for big wheels and the like. You're up there, 80 ft or so in the air, swaying above all that concrete... Not my cup of tea!

Or maybe the ride broke down yet again ;) That's the last thing Alton needs - yet more bad publicity.

Wow, this almost looks like a brand new attraction. It's amazing what a re-theme and spot of paint can do to an ageing coaster like the "Thunder Looper".

Well I finally managed to ride it yesterday, and was thoroughly impressed. It's amazing just how big the Marmaliser is from the main queueline - it's so imposing. I was quite worried that the ride wouldn't tie in with The Sanctuary, but The Smiler really does compliment its maze counterpart...
