Old "Thunderlooper" gets new paint job & theme

It's good to see it going still. The theme freshens it up nicely. Funny how this and the old Black Hole coaster didn't get completely scrapped. Alton's rides FTW cool)

Initial reaction when first seeing that pic? "Coooooooooooool!!!"

I love it! Would like to see how they've made the rest of the ride, and the re-themed Justice League area.

Cool, looks great! I have always want to ride a shuttle loop because I love schrawkopf and they've always looked fun. The theming makes this one probably the best there will ever be (except maybe Turbine or... whatever its called now)

There was a topic, or at least a mention in a topic, about this ages ago. It's been like that for around a year (maybe more) now. If I could be arsed to dig around for the topic, I'd lock this, but I can't.

Looks amazing etc etc etc.

That looks cracking.

Was my first thought, then I watched the POV and realised what a cheap, tacky prop it is.

I do like how the coaster time warps through the loop on its return though.

I never went to Alton towers while this was their. As far as I can remember is was just painted black, and di it have any decent theme at Alton? It must be strange going through that loop with just a lap bar!

^ It didn't have any theme at all at Alton. It was more of an olive green than black.

That's how I remember it anyway.

The Bullet had shoulder restraints and just a lap bar. And the Magnum Force had a lapbar and a ridiculous seatbeat system.

I don't think it feels strange, felt awesome!

I put a couple of pics in this thread last year: viewtopic.php?f=4&t=35164

Wow, this almost looks like a brand new attraction. It's amazing what a re-theme and spot of paint can do to an ageing coaster like the "Thunder Looper".

While it looks great, that video demonstrates just how slow, dull and piss poor the ride actually is. Cardboard cutouts make the ride 4000% better than it was ;)
