That's exactly what I'm thinking, I think there's a lot of speculation based on a Viking themed gate. The upside down logo is definitely a tease but otherwise, it's just fitting theming.
I'm sceptical that we'll get a wooden rollercoaster and if we do, it'd be either a 2nd rollercoaster or one...
Whilst it would be nice if it was Rameses Revenge, I don't think it is. I believe this had been scrapped back in 2020 and left Chessington on the back of a van. It was in a state towards the end of it's operating life so I don't think it was economical to repair.
The ride model on this thread...
It's confirmed, the Dragon Roundabout has operated for the last time and is leaving this winter. Paultons Park have posted it on Instagram.
I'm wondering whether a Mack Seastorm maybe part of the Viking Area 🤔
I literally forgot there's a floorless coaster at Great Adventure already, my oversight 😅
At another park, yes - at Great Adventure, unless they do what Merlin do at some of their parks and install two rides of the same model in different parts of the park, no 🤣
It would be a missed event opportunity if Kingda Ka was to close unceremoniously.
With the floorless Green Lantern, I'd say it would be a fantastic opportunity and would provide a new experience for the park.
I don't think the wooden aesthetic necessarily screams woodie to me - it's authentic to the viking theme and the longships they had.
A woodie would be fantastic however I wouldn't be disappointed if it came later instead.
I'm completely with Graeme on this one and I'd be shocked if the new...
Having been on Hyperia over 50 times, I have noticed that Hyperia has brought in a lot of people both domestically and internationally.
It is a very unique coaster and a B&M Hyper wouldn't have had the same attention with the original plans. I understand Merlin wanted it to stick to the Canada...
For me, I started my coaster count at 54 at the beginning of 2024. Now, my coaster count is 79 with an increase of 25 coasters.
Park visits this year:
Thorpe Park x 23 (1 more visit planned)
Chessington x 3 (1 more visit planned)
Europa Park x 4 (1 trip)
Phantasialand x 2 (1 trip)
Blackpool...
Those closure notices typically indicate a closure date once a ride is announced to close permanently or for a extended closure like with the Scooby Doo Wild Mouse in Warner Bros Movie World in Australia.
It's rather unusual for this sort of notice to show for a closure that will last a winter...
Sounds like RCDB seem to be jumping to conclusions a bit. The park haven't said anything about a permanent closure.
It's most likely some sort of retheme.
Project Play is plausible for a junior rollercoaster with a generic layout such as Zierer Forces, Zamperla Gravity or Vekoma Juniors.
Project Refresh and Renew's coaster is most certainly an Intamin Multi Dimension Coaster.
I'm not so sure they'll go secondhand unless it's in-house (at another Merlin park) 🤔
Tussauds have done it with Zodiac 2.0 at Thorpe Park which came from Drayton Manor however I don't think it's been done in over a decade at least.
That is true however for something as huge as Minecraft, Merlin will need to put in a lot of effort to create the most authentic Minecraft themed area possible.
It doesn't need Super Nintendo World budgets but it does need a considerable amount to make a authentic Minecraft themed area.
I do...
With the success of Super Nintendo World, I'm not surprised that Merlin will want to look at a major video game IP for a huge area. Minecraft does sound right for the Chessington target audience and has the potential to really put Chessington on the map along with Project Play which could also...
