What I hoped for: A pc game with better graphics and AI than rct3 and coasters where you can manipulate the track in any way like no limits.

What is really happening: A mobile game with **** microtransactions

Seems like Atari are cashing in on the most popular revenue stream for gaming to be fair.

Also, hadn't known this was announced so did a bit of research and see a PC version is also in development which is 'entirely different' from the mobile version. So that could be your first hope.

If that is true that would be great! I don't know about everyone else but I would really like the ability to edit the track in any way possible like no limits rather than a restricted choice of track pieces like in rct3

I haven't looked into RCT4 at all, and I didn't even know it had been announced until I saw this topic.

That said, I'm really not surprised at this "mobile first, PC second" release they seem to be doing for the game. I've always seen RCT as a casual game, and as of right now, mobile is the biggest source of casual games out there. That doesn't mean it'll be good on mobile, and microtransactions won't be fun, but I think it makes sense from a business standpoint.

As for the No Limits style coaster building, I would be extremely surprised if they implement it. RCT is, like I mentioned before, a causal game, designed to let anyone build their own theme park and rides. The system they have for building, while it has massive limitations, is easy to learn and use. No Limits has a much more in-depth and complex building system, and I think it would be much more intimidating to the casual crowd I see RCT marketing to. It's much more difficult to learn, and I think that would put a lot of people off the game.

I have a solution for RCT coaster building:

2 separate modes-
Basic mode for kids and new players which has the restrictive coaster building system
Advanced mode with no limits coaster building system for those who want to build realistic coasters

People still buy RCT3, and I highly suspect Atari are worried about possible competition from the likes of NL2 and the recent Theme Park Studio.

Anyway, RCT4 for PC sounds promising. Fingers crossed the awful grid system will be a thing of the past and you can finally build customised/realistic coaster layouts.

Also rct4 really needs better peep AI. Peeps will only stay around the area with the most rides. They wont walk long distances if you space out the rides in your park.

As soon as I saw it was going to be released as a mobile game, I was expecting complaints of "Please buy 10 tickets or wait 23:59 more hours to build the next support".
