An evening of boredom has resulted in coming across this:

Ok, so most of us have ridden tower rides this tall - or taller - before, but 80 meters (262 feet) for a portable ride is just ridiculous. Oktoberfest starts on September 21st.

Those restraints looks very similar to Eurofighters.

I wouldn't be disappointed to see this built at a theme park, the looks very attractive for a travelling ride.

That's because Gerstlauer made them :-)

I'm hopefully gonna get to Hamburg for the Winter DOM to ride this!
It kinda scares me though, the base also seems quite small...

The sheer size of these travelling rides will never fail to amaze me...especially given that the largest portable rides I've ever seen are ferris wheels :P

Honestly though, rides like this and coasters like Olympia Looping are mind-blowing to think about, at least for me.

Well guess PW2 has to say goodbye to that record..... :p

^Yeah, but probably a lot less than some of the huge coasters that they haul around the country. The throughput of a tower ride would be smaller than a coaster, but I'd guess that it will also cost more to ride. Either way, if it wasn't profitable, they wouldn't do it.
