I don't get the logic that bumbags obstruct the lap-bar, as there is no need for the lap-bar to be tight. It's only ever going to be an issue with people who have short legs and big bellies, in which case you'd just ask them to remove the bumbag and try again. You could argue that it may slow operation down, but asking everyone to take their bumbags off and the resulting arguing guest wastes far more time.
As for bags in lockers, I'm surprised that the cluster**** of bags on Dragon's Fury is not considered a H&S risk given all the bull**** that is. That platform isn't very big.
Merlin are providing very good bag deposits on all of their recent roller coasters, bag deposits that cost the park money as it requires hiring extra staff... So I'd be surprised if they went the way of SF. The cost must outweigh the complaints. Remember when Slammer had a no bags even in the queue line policy? How long did that last...?
Six Flag's policy couldn't make less sense, because they force you to take items on ride that you obviously cannot leave in a locker which could result in danger. Shoes are arguably required on ride, though I've heard that at some parks they simply bring the shoes to you in a box in event of breakdowns.
Speaking of which, Chessington seem pretty lax about people taking loose items such as cameras on Fury. Which is senseless given the danger if these items are dropped onto guests below. To be so ott about a ****ing jumper tied around the waist and then ignore people holding cameras I think is ridiculous.
