What sporting event made you cheer loudest?

I almost only watch sports on the international scale (FIFA World Cup, Olympics, ect.) but I get really into it.

Watching Michael Phelps win his eighth gold in Beijing 2008 made me cheer pretty loudly. US-Algeria in the 2010 World Cup got me pretty into it too. An honorable mention to watching I'll Have Another win the Preakness a few years ago during the Triple Crown horse races.

It was the British Grand Prix, Silverstone, in 1987 in the days when Formula One was still exciting and I was there to see the race. Our hero Nigel Mansell driving the Williams was half a minute behind the race leader, his team mate Nelson Piquet. Mansell was driving out of his skin to try to catch him and over many laps the gap (What's the gap, Murray?) was getting noticeably smaller. The huge crowd, sensing our hero might actually do it, were becoming more and more excited. After catching Piquet and being on his tail for a couple of laps the next time they came round Mansell was in front and went on to win the race. The crowd went wild. After the race Mansell said he could see everyone willing him on and he thinks the crowd power pushed him on. A brilliant race, and yes I was a little hoarse afterwards.

I got a few that all come close.
#1 Is probably those nice kids at Baylor and Stanford for upsetting #1 and #2 in the same week to put Bama back in the National Championship. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pfzfMoICHS8

Honorable Mentions:
Avalanche win in overtime in Game 3 of Western Conference Quarter Finals 1-0 on an own goal, despite being outshot 51-16. I was at the game too! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fcKODNOU6yk

Bama's comeback on LSU in 2012: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Jt2Z_VSKE4

Bama Wins 2012 SEC Championship. Probably the best game I've ever been to. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BBA2kjyy7w4

Lastly, this past April, I got to see this beauty live and I went nuts! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y4kxgxcwkA8

^ Don't lie valleyfair - you were cheering loudest when #1 Alabama was upset by #4 Auburn on a missed kick return during last year's Iron Bowl.

I love the fan reactions, pretty sure valleyfair is at 2:50.

I thought you were cheering louder when Oklahoma prison raped Bama last year in the Sugar Bowl no lube style? No?

By the way, you're a dick for bringing up that **** Baylor game. Still have **** nightmares about it. Had tickets ready to buy to Miami, but I opted to wait until after that game for Championship game.

^ It could be worse Tom. You could cheer for a college team that has had Mark Dantonio (Michigan State), Brian Kelly (Notre Dame), and Butch Jones (Tennessee) all leave after coaching for three years, getting your team oh so close to breaking through to the next level, only to be relegated to a non Power-5 conference where you will seemingly spend eternity rooting in football purgatory without any real hopes of championships under the new playoffs system.

Thank god I went to Ohio State and can now claim that as an alma mater as well.

Should of joined the Big 12 when you had the chance. Would have made a hell of a lot more sense than West Virginia.

Or conference realignment should have never happened.

Hyde... we don't talk about last years Iron Bowl. We got it taken care of this year.

Sorry tomahawk, for bringing that one up though. If it makes you feel better, you sure as hell know who I will be cheering for when the barners go to Manhattan!

I blew it and doesn't get tickets when I had the chance. Now they are going for $200 upper corner (still not bad seats since it's pretty small) but I could've had field level alumni section for about $60 each.

My mother in law is an Auburn alum, and I root against them every time (except for Bama, because **** Saban). I really want to go to an Iron Bowl soon, just a bit out of my current budget. Might try UCLA USC this year.

Iron Bowls are something to witness... this year though I think it's the highest priced game in college football. (Glad I'm still a student!)

USC vs. UCLA would be awesome! I think the PAC-12 is gaining on the SEC in competitiveness for sure. (I hate USC though.) I really want to go to the Stanford vs. Oregon game. That game has been crazy the last few years.

Rose Bowl is best college stadium I have been too hands down. Haven't been to many, but it is unmatched. Trying to start a rotating rivalry game tradition with friends. Ohio State/Mich, Cocktail Party, Border War, Iron Bowl, Red River, Civil War. All the good ones. Sad that everything is too politically correct to call those games that anymore.

Ignore what others say, call them what they've always been called!

Rose Bowl looks awesome! Maybe I'll get to be there for a semi-final this year  . I'm going to the Texas A&M vs. South Carolina game tomorrow, so I'm looking forward to seeing Williams-Brice Stadium and the SC fans do their Sandstorm thing.

You lucky dog! It'll be bonkers for first game of season.

Enjoy watching Bama play Georgia Southern Central East Tech State College again this year, and their rival, Florida North Parallel West Tech College State (PA). ;)

UC would have absolutely joined had they been invited.

And the Rose Bowl is the Wrigley Field of College Football (Does that make Notre Dame Fenway?) - fantastic venue with such a rich history. The best college football venue I have been in.

However that being said - Metlife Stadium (Dolphins Stadium for Orange Bowl) and the Superdome (Sugar Bowl) are fantastic places to place college football as well, none the less march in.

I watched a staged joust at a place called "Medieval Time" (I think). I don't know if that's considered a sport but it was probably one of the funnest things I've ever watched in person.
