This. Both at the same park is a range.
Smoothest wood though would be Outlaw Run and roughest would probably be Grizzly at King's Dominion or Wildcat at hershey park.

Just got back from a week at PortAventura and could only manage Furious Baco once. It was pure hell. My gf couldn't ride again and we both had aches and pains after. Stampida was also unbearable. We both couldn't work out how PA were allowed to keep these rides in operation!
Also paid a visit to Europa Park the week before, Eurosat left a pain in the neck.
Ive not ridden a rough B&M yet
Loved Shambhala and Silver Star.

Smoothest steel- Diamondback at Kings Island
Roughest steel- Ninja at SFOG
Smoothest wood- Blue Streak at Cedar Point (Thunderhead at Dollywood is a close second)

Smoothest Steel - Goliath, Walibi Holland; Didn't feel a moment of discomfort
Roughest Steel - El Condor, Walibi Holland; Worst of the SLCs I've been on
Smoothest Wood - Tonnerre de Zeus; A few lateral bumps, but nothing uncomfortable
Roughest Wood - Gwazi; By far the roughest overall as well
Smoothest Steel - Goliath, Walibi Holland; Didn't feel a moment of discomfort

Smoothest Wood - Rollercoaster with no restraints @ PBB (pre Nickelodeon makeover)
Roughest Wood - Texas Tornado @ Frontierland Morecambe in it's last operating season :-(
Smoothest Steel - Air @ Alton or Teststrecke @ Oktoberfest
Roughest Steel - Jubilee Oddyssey @ Fantasy Island
It's a shame about Texas Tornado as it used to be such a brilliant smooth ride but in the last operating season it literally dropped off the lifthill with a jolt, and bounced around the track. Didn't help us being on the back seat and the bit we were sat on was coming away from the back of the car on one side lol. As seen as they were tearing the thing down they mustn't have bothered with any maintenance.
We literally had to round people up off the park to get on the thing as it 'wouldn't make it round' with too few people on according to the ride op. Once he got it full at least he sent it round about 8 times, probably accounting for the pain I was in after as there was no queue - wasn't too fun after a couple of times but glad we got that many goes as the next year it was no more :-(
