Support beams with one piece of flat track
 
Is it just the photo or is this track darker than Shanghai's? This looks more grey to me, whereas Shanghai's appears to be more white?
 
It more than likely has a thick spine because Disney wanted to build it using the least amount of supports. Aesthetics an all that.
 
It doesn't look like they saved on the supports. I've seen coasters that had half of that. I think I like the Shanghai earthquake theory.
 
The trains are heavy. It is full of special parts. By the Disney design standard everything is more over designed. Also all the electronics makes the train heavy.

For instance they have the back restraint dressed as an identity disc, which lights up as bright as the wheels, and they all change on cue. The canopy will be the focal point outside so a few extra supports... meh.
