That's why I'm not in PR (rocks don't talk back..)

And also after being formed over millions of years, rocks have enough patience to wait for you to go to the loo? :p

Think I'm gonna make you guys watches that work on a geological timescale...maybe for the faffle...

We do need it to arrange meet up times for you :p

Oh, and The Smiler has "allegedly" reopened now

It's shut again, oh wait - that's just the poor opening hours despite the height of summer being upon us.

Five and be thankful for it! :p

I thought it was six in the summer holidays actually.

^It was 6pm ride close when I went on Tuesday. Slightly annoyed that it's open again already (if that's the case) after missing out on riding it earlier in the week.

Ah well.

It's incredible they're not open longer at the moment. Obviously it costs more to stay open, but I'd assume people would spend plenty on food and drink if they're staying another two hours (or more) in the park to balance that out a bit.

Is that 'ridetimes' website ran by AT or unofficial?

Also, 6.00pm close during summer holidays is piss poor. They need to take a leaf out of continental parks - not just Alton, all UK parks, maybe that's one for another topic...

I think ridetimes is actually the proper Towers one, a bit of a decent call by them actually...

Talking of ridetimes, it would seem that Smiler has been nonoperational for several days now, and a few angry facebook posts seem to allude to this too.

Does anyone know what's going on now? If it's open I'll be going on Friday, or if not Drayton Manor.
I've been waiting to ride this for close to a year now!

What's even more antagonising is Alton's lucid lack of Customer services information. The sole ways of contacting them are through a phone line which seems to solve problems pertaining to everything else but the theme park and twitter which I doubt they consistently answer. Nothing on their website even suggests the ride is down and to be honest, I wouldn't be surprised if they weren't even attempting to resolve the problems. Disney will work zealously for 24 hours on the trot in order to stay on schedule.

There'll be an abundance of angry guests imminently as unless you're an enthusiast there is little way of discovering.

It's up and down more than Snoo's pants in a nunnery - whether it'll be open or not really isn't something anyone can tell you until the actual day unfortunately.

Don't talk rubbish.

Seen rumours of subsidence being an issue but I can't see it. Someone over on towerstimes has a pic of some engineers in the queueline literally facepalming which seems apt.

Really tempted to hold off until next year at this rate.
