*COUGH* Rita*COUGH*

Since when has Rita been bad in the public's eyes?
It usually has the biggest queue in the park and is one of the most popular rides there for the general public.

You're writing, but I am hearing PAIN!

That ride is quite possibly the worst ride I have EVER been on.

Rita is not the best in the world but its not the worst. It is abit of a marmite coaster.

I like Rita but I dont love it.

Sadly, Alton don't care about your views (or mine either, I dislike Rita). They care about the hundreds of thousands of visitors a year who think it's the best ride ever installed there.

That's why you couldn't trust enthusiasts to run parks

Oh, they've dug a trench - construction update on Sunday when I get back :)

Well it started a few day before I predicted. Close enough though.

Mud on the move.

Actually, I don't know if I'l lget pictures this weekend - it would mean having to go on Rita ;)

I went today and they seemed to be digging, and there also were sticks in the ground will yellow spheres on the top laid out, maybe they are for where footers will go or something?

Ooh, construction pics (sort of). I was getting bored now that the Saw construction has finished.

Do you think this topic will get anywhere near as long as Saw?

Um, I'll have you know that I for one rather enjoy the blown up balloon letting go sequence that is Rita :p

Looked at the plans again today, and my excitement has reached it's highest level yet. The highest part after the lift is less than half the hight of the lift, no way is this a family thrill ride, this is going to be amazing.

Construction updates then!

I think this trench is for the section turning around out of the station onto the lift hill which points away from Rita.

More of the trench.

And more...

Most of this will become station. You can just see a hole dug over the far side.

And here you can see a hole dug, probably for more footers on the lift hill.

How exciting... Should I sticky this topic now?

I can't help thinking that the feel-good rock music (and such) that Rita pumps out will kind of ruin the atmosphere of the new ride :/

^^I think it would be fair enough, there is clearly work going on.

Will much of the ride be dug into the ground, or is that as far as it goes, just leveling it out?
