Themed supports

Reading through Jerry's Untamed report, I was rather impressed with the birch themed supports.

I've been racking my brains (which never takes long LOL!) and I can't recall ever seeing such well themed supports.

It's a simple idea yet really effective.

Are there any other coasters with awesomely themed supports?

(I was going to put this in the "wacky coaster bits" topic, but then decided to start a new topic.)

As a matter of fact, the first generation of this same ride (the one with less tri-rail) at Duinrell have supports that are painted to be wooden poles. And didn't the people from Canobie Lake go there to see their coaster before they built theirs? In that case it might have gotten the inspiration for their "wooden" supports...

They look really great though...

I can't find a photo but the supports for the waterslide in Toverland. They're themed to a tree =]

Not a coaster but the tower of Scream! at Heide Park is painted really cool:

I always wondered why more parks didn't theme their drop towers like this? :?: I never thought of the possibility to paint coaster supports this way, it seems like too much work I think. But it really is awesome looking!

^No, you can walk around while the ride is running. They do recommend you dodge the trains though. ;)

^ Yes but what I think mouse is saying, and what I'd agree with, is that the paint on the track spine and the supports that is supposed to simulate rust & mold has faded with time, which ironically gives the ride a somewhat younger appearance.

Cheetah Hunt doesn't have themed supports per se, but they were made to enhance the theme and such.

And some of Montu's footers are themed:

I've searched the net for ages now looking for a picture to support this, but a REALLY obvious one which has been missed so far is Oblivion.

Anybody who has been to Alton (mainly UK members) would note that the bottom of most of the supports is a number with the orange Oblivon drop logo - adds to the theme of both the ride and the area.

(anybody who has a picture please post it to support my point - can't believe I've not found an image of them)

Just to let you know, Rage was the first...
Yes I know that. But it's only due to Duinrell having problem to get permission to install the ride which caused it to be delayed for several years. It was actually designed and fabricated before Rage. Rage and Untamed are the second generation of the version at Duinrell. The difference between the two are that they replaced the bi-rail between the Immelmann turn and helix with tri-rail to reduce the ammount of supports required, and by that reduce the cost of the ride...

Posting on the go...

You can sort of see them there. No close up pictures though. Saying that, does anyone know what the numbers and letters stand for? They're different on every support.
