The Merlin Entertainments London Eye and NEW attraction

Great news that they are trying to do something to use that building. Aaron, is this an attempt to also ease any of the queuing times?

In terms of the logo and name change. I hate it. The old logo was far far superior. Why purple? (ironically one of my favourite colours) It just looks cheap.

I may swing by sometime and have a looksie. I am certainly interested in the 3d Fireworks bit.....

Er, well the show has, in theory, the same throughput capacity as the ride (which I doubt, especially when I'm driving  ) but it does tend to create waves of people which at the moment while we're still settling in with it, has the potential to tip us over the edge and take us to pre-board.

I think the text is awful, but I really like the eye bit. There are some different coloured versions too which are used in different contexts, for example on the river cruise the logo is blue.

I found the 4D experience very hidden and I'm sure I'm not the only one. There seems to be loads of staff members in the area and yet hardly anyone seems to be going to the attraction, which in a way is a shame. Maybe it just feels that way because it has such a large capacity?

Thing is, people want to go on the Eye, not some 4D experience. I don't get what Merlin are doing? They're really ripping the sole out of all the Tussauds attractions.

I think I want Tussauds back?

^Huh? As far as I'm aware you get this included with your entry to the London eye so it's just an added bonus and a very good one at that. It may be short but it's actually quite good.

Yer I know, but Merlin are losing what their attractions are about. It's not about some 3 minute show, it's about seeing London. Now, if the show explained how the thing was built and yadda yadda, then yer, that would be better. Not just a firework show of nothing.

I guess I have to go and see it myself.

While you wait to go in there is a video which shows them designing it, building it etc. Not really an in depth doc or anything, just a montage of all the stages they had to go through.

Adding value.

It's actually quite a "motivator" in a way, it's kind of an inspirational feel-good film, and it really gets you in the mood to go on the eye

Someone even came out the other day and said the film justified the £17.50 ticket price on its own!

If the public are getting it for free and as part of the Eye I think they will love it, after all before they just got the Eye and now that get this as well.

If you go on the London Eye once would you want to go on it again?

Remember this type of thing is for tourists mainly.

You could say the same about Sea Life Centers etc.

Not everyone has a pass and not everyone that goes on these things is from the uk :)

Indeed, if it is anything like Madame Tussauds, the vast majority of people are tourists from other countries. They are only likely to ever ride it once anyway. Which to be fair, is what the eye is designed for. Tourists. To see London in one nice big overview.

My reckoning is, for us, it'll be like the planetarium used to be at MT.

If you were with a group of people who had all done it before, you never tended to bother doing it again, but if you were with someone who hadn't seen it before then you would probably go to see it.

I personally am looking forward to seeing the show again, I've only seen it the once, but then again I am a geek for smoke effects, and the ones used are pretty good I have to say :D
