What's new

The Games we play...

Although the original 151 are the best I like that they keep adding new ones as it keeps the games new and fresh.

I've downloaded some weird cat thing from the Japanese store. I have no idea what it is as it doesn't seem to be a game or demo and seems to sit in between the disk icon and the folder with all my demos. So far I've just pressed x a lot while that cats speak in Japanese and move around. And the Black one had a dustbin lid dropped on his head.

Edit after a quick Google search...
That is Minnichi Isshyo, a Japanese phenomenon created by Sony. The game is mostly a news update by Neko (the white cat) and Kuro (the black cat). If you watch a ToroStation news broadcast then the cats ask you if you enjoyed the show. At the end, you get to spin a wheel and hopefully you'll get something you can give to your cat. You can also download accessories for you room that Neko stays in. The main point of the game is to update you with gaming news about the PS3. It's pretty much like G4's the Feed, except with very verbose cats. And yes, there are mind games that are simply just fun.

hope that helped any:smileywink:

This is mainly for the Japanese gamer hence why it's on the JPN PS store. I doubt it will come to the US PS Store because I don't think US gamers want to read all that text.

GOD DAMMIT, AGH!

Looks like f12009 will not be coming out on the PS3 or Xbox if you beleive was has been said on line. Codemasters have had to find new bakers just to keep going :(

Lack of pasties and pies means it's cancelled??? :p

Sounds pretty bad actually, that license would have cost them a fair amount to wrench from Sony.

Even worse, Sony have had to close Studio Liverpool now - probably a direct result of Sony losing it (that's the last of Psygnosis gone Kim).

So it's bad for everyone all told. Did nobody tell Codemasters developing for PSP and Wii is only going to cost you money (unless you're Sony or Nintendo)?

They already have the engine ready - what does this mean for Grid 2 then as well??? I can't find anything official online yet Marc - will keep checking though.

Noooot yet.

They closed most of it, and only the part that deals with WipEout and a few other things are still going...

But yeah, they be fooked!

Furie, this is what has been said so far in the gaming world.

On Codemasters site there is no longer any mention of the game coming out on the PS3 or Xbox. The thing is if they got it out 1st on them platforms it would have sold and they would have probably been ok.

There is still some hope the game will be out later 2010 but if they bring it out later this year people will expect the new tracks and the new cars and teams not the ones from 2009.

Merged with Evolution studios last week Kim:

They're "relocating" the last of Studio Liverpool - they hope.
(interesting fact - I went to school with the guy who runs Evolution Studios, he was a good friend of my sisters :) ).

I don't know what all this [Codemasters stuff] means to be honest Marc, but they will have paid an absolute fortune for the license, and for dev on the F1 game. To ditch it within months of release? Surely they would do it anyway to recoup SOME of the expense.

You're right though, PS3 and 360 versions would have made them a LOT of money. I'm pretty sure Dirt II made them a bob or two.

This post may contain mild spoilers.

Heavy Rain has been criticised for having a scene where you play as a woman and have to take off your clothes and have a shower, have a piss and then get beaten up to two masked men.
There's a video clip of the scene HERE (Not for viewing at work or if you're under 18).

The creator of PS3 psychological thriller Heavy Rain and boss of development studio Quantic Dreams, David Cage, has defended the game, insisting it’s “definitely not porn”. However, with this amount of nudity in a game it’s difficult not to consider the game as being anything other than porn. Check out the not-safe-for-work video we have below, featuring the game’s nude shower scene.
Watch Madison use the loo, have a shower and then get beaten up by two masked men.

Well at least it's different. I like games doing new things. :)

^Ollie blates just wants the boobies ;)

But seriously... Boobs and bum is considered porn now? And oh noes she's using the loo, save us...

It's an 18 anyways, so yeah, what the hell can they be complaining about? (Yes the certificate in the end means bugger all in regards to who can actually buy it, but obviously since it passed the test for the rating, it is evidently deemed suitable, and you see a lot worse on tv and what-not)...

Subtle reminder!!!
I'll be playing Grid from about 9:00 tonight if anyone wants to join in (Inverse\Lain)?

I'll probably be on from about 8:15 though if anyone fancies a game of AvP against Minor_Furie and me?
