What's new

The Games we play...

just been scouring craigslist to look for a used copy of fallout 3.

Everyone keeps telling me how AMAZING it is - but i'm not convinced - it looks a bit dull to me. One of those grey and brown graphical toss-fests that the fanboys love but have no ounce of "fun" in them.

Im prepared to give it a go.. but im NOT paying the RRP of $50.

(uk people at this point will say "that's ONLY 25 quid", but you have to look at these things in perspective - out here $50 can buy you a lot of stuff )

PSP GO is official.

Smaller, lighter, no UMD drive. No physical drive at all (all games will be download only).

Same "tech" specs as the PSP, but has extra gubbins like blue tooth for headphones, etc etc etc.

Although nothing announced yet - my money is on the thing having a touch screen/tilt controls when the controller is tucked away.

Sony say they're going to keep selling the "old" psp for people who like to buy games from the shops.

My first impressions are that unless the downloadable games are CONSIDERABLY cheaper than their shop bought counterparts - i cant see it succeeding.

the smallest (forum friendly) image of it i could find is here:

^Yeah I'm not too keen on it at the mo and I'm a Sony fanboy. It may look better when Sony release more details at E3.

Is there a way to find out where the remaining stunt jumps, crash barriers and billboards are in burnout? Or at least what area they're in? I've only got a few left and can't find them anywhere.
When abouts next month is the new maps for CoD:WaW due out? I guess it'll be around £6.99 like the last one.

Ollie - there's a map on the internets somewhere which shows you where they all are. Google it, you'll find it.

If you have a ps3 - you can download a tool from criterion which examines your save file and lets you know which ones your missing (not sure how this works myself - as i dont have a ps3).

Personally i just went to the menus, which tell you that you've done x out of y jumps in one area - then just drove around that area looking for them.

Obviously it helps if you have the latest downloads for the game so that superjumps and billboards are more brighter and easier to see.

Just another 24 hours until Nintendo's 2008 E3 conference ALL OVER AGAIN!

What the one where they demonstrated some of the best selling entertainment software of last year? But all the children on web forums cried because none of said games were either grey and brown shooting games, nor racing games?

^^^^^Yeah I didn't notice the other bit on the menu screen saying the areas. I've found all the smash gates. Just got to get all the billboards now. I'm going to try and get the 'A' license first though.

Also I saw the latest trailer for Modern Warfare 2 today. Have to say it looks ****ing fantastic and I'll definitely be getting it when it comes out.

CoD:WaW will also be getting it's 2nd Map Pack this month so can;t wait for that. There are a few new trophies to get on the new Nazi Zombie map as well. There are also zombie dog things in the new Nazi Zombie map that should be quite cool. :)

Also, Dark Sector arrived today so I'll play that once I'm done with Burnout so will let you know what that's like. :)

I have also been playing Burnout again, not played it for bloody ages so had to wait an hour for the bike pack to download. Its good but easy.

Are the other packs any good as there are like 5 now.

Get all the free content.. it VASTLY improves the game..

As for the paid content.. well i bought the back-to-the-future delorian, which is fun.. but not really worth the money

Dont get Cops and Robbers - we had it at work, it gets boring FAST!

Looks like same sort of Call of Duty rooobish! :p

Im stll going to stick with Battlefield.

Microsoft's E3 press conference lead off with the first look at the Beatles Rock Band game. The opening sequence looks awesome & the game features multiple microphone setup for full chorus. It also features full in-studio chat with all the band members. Abby Road will be the first of many full album downloads shortly after launch. Official release date 09.09.09. Paul & Ringo didn't have a clue what to do or say LOL, but do like what Harmonix did with the game.
Next up was Tony Hawk & the new skateboard peripheral. Looks great & I know I'm getting one for sure. I just hope it's not exclusive to Tony Hawk's Ride.
That was followed by a hands=on demo of the new Modern Warfare, which featured a cool ice wall climbing sequence with snow & ice falling into your face etc. followed by an airfield assault sequence. Being attacked by soldiers on snowmobiles was the highlight for me. Everything looks very polished, as expected & riding the snowmobiles is fast & furious. The new main character is named Roach & the there are new radar attachments for guns.
A new Final Fantasy XIII demo was next. Looked great, but not much to report other than a scheduled spring 2010 release date.
Can't wait to see what's next. I'll keep posting E3 updates as warranted.
