Davina McCall has revealed that Channel 4 reality series Big Brother is coming to an end.

The presenter, who has hosted the show since it started back in 2000, said: "It's definitely only got two years left."

This year's Big Brother will be the 10th anniversary series of the show and it is believed that Channel 4 will not renew its current contract when it runs out next year.

The new series, which begins later this month, faces an uphill struggle for viewers as last year's Big Brother had the lowest-ever viewing figures.

Audiences for the 2008 series averaged just 3.2 million viewers, while critics claimed that the show had lost its spark.

The glory days of Big Brother, which produced stars such as Nasty Nick, Nadia and Jade Goody, now seem well and truly over. Can you even remember who won last year's show? Go on, have a go.

We think the end of Big Brother can't come soon enough. The show, which was once must-see viewing, has become little more than a four month long snooze-fest which exists for the purpose of spewing out a couple of z-list celebs for Heat magazine at the end.

Maybe you disagree? Will you be sad to see the end of Big Brother? Let us know what you think...

It's about bloody time. I've hated that ****ty excuse of a show since it first started. Are you glad to hear it's ending or are you devastated that you're actually going to get 4 months of your life back?

It has had its milking, and I'm glad the end is this year. I will watch it, as I've watched them all pretty much, but yes I am glad it's finally over. I just hope that I'm a Celeb and other petty reality shows like this take the hint and get off our screens.

Isn't it really strange how this "news" comes out when the new series about to start?

No doubt they'll somehow have amazing figures for this series and all of a sudden the producers will conclude that it is an amazing show and it continue until at least 2020!

Talk about publicity stunt. As long as it continues to make money, sells a few papers and whatnot, they'll be a Big Brother.

However, unless I know anybody taking part in the show, I wont watch it anyway.

I'm surprised Davina can even last another 2 years on the show, she has looked more bored each year the show has gone on.

I don't really mind if the show finishes. The last few years they have been pretty poor and they always seem to start off promising but then fail to deliver. I used to be a big fan of the show but would prefer for the show to end rather than drag it out too long.

Maybe it means that the great unwashed are slowly realising that substance and talent is > celebrity.

Also it would be very apt if the death of BB's most famous contestant signalled the end of the game show itself.

I think some peeps are getting the wrong idea, it'll be back next year too.

Tbh I'm not bothered, I'm not a fan of the show so I don't watch it. Simples.

I watch the first episode to see who the freaks are, then switch off until the final.

**** off Big Brothers awesome.

Shameless has just finished (or finishes next week if you don't watch the E4 version, Chris Moyles show is finishing its series soon, the InBetweeners has finished too... so its Channel 4's summer offering.

I think Channel 4 have it spot on really, Big Brother in the summer when you shouldn't be watching telly as much, so hopefully don't get so sick of it (seeing as its on EVERY night)... then it resumes back to proper drama/comedies in Autumn/Winter when television is watched more often.

Thank **** for that.

It's finally over. I couldn't stand it.

It wasn't entertaining. At all.

But it's not over...

two years left.

I'll watch it if I know something interesting happens, but otherwise there's normally somehting better on the telly anyway.
