The Cool Wall - On Track - September posted!

This is purely for On Track only.

As I mentioned briefly in the Newsletter, I would be starting up this new idea.

I've been thinking how best to do this and have came up with this way of doing it.

I shall list 25 different parks, attractions, coasters and rides and it'll be your job to decide which section it should go in.
Either: Sub Zero, Cool, Un-Cool or Seriously Un-Cool.

At the end of the month, I'll count up the number of votes per park or attraction and the section with the highest number of votes is the one that it shall be put in.
If that makes any sense

Here's an Example
Piraten - Djurs Sommerland
Sub Zero - 2
Cool - 5
Un-Cool - 1
Seriously Un-Cool - 0

So that would mean it would go into the 'Cool' section.

When the next On Track is released, there will be a new list of 25 parks or attractions.

I hope that you are able to understand that, if not, just ask.

If you haven't been to the park or been on the attraction, then it doesn't matter and you can still rate accordingly.

1. Toverland - Cool
It looks like a fun and unique looking park with a very nice looking woodie. The booster bike looks decent too if it's anything like Velocity.

2. Blue Fire, Europa Park - Sub-Zero
Looks absolutely incredible, heard excellent reviews about it. It looks pretty and the trains look like they provide a more comfortable ride than those with OTSR's. (As long as they don't compress you.)

3. Skyhawk, Cedar Point - Sub-Zero
Screamin' Swings are incredible. Although the cycle is shorter than smaller models and it supposedly sways; it would still be blasphemic not to give it a 'sub-zero.'

4. Six Flags Magic Mountain - Cool
One of the first parks I found out about and it looks like it has a really good line-up of rides, even if it's slated for a poor atmosphere.

5. Apocalypse, Drayton Manor - Un-Cool
Seriously overrated, I found the stand-up without a floor painful and I didn't find it very thrilling.

6. Die Glocke, Hansa Park - Cool
Swingy rides are fun and if it doesn't spin too much I'll be fine with it.

7. Kieppi, Linnanmaki - Un-Cool
It spins a lot. Eurgh.

8. Carowinds - Cool
Looks pretty decent, Afterburn looks really good and it looks like there's a lot to do. Just lacks in the theming department.

9. Fluch von Novgorod, Hansa Park - Cool
I wasn't that excited about it but it looks like a lot of fun, especially when it's supposedly finished.

10. Dragon's Claw, Adventure Island - Seriously Un-Cool
Spins.

11. Raging Bull, Six Flags Great America - Un-Cool
Bad reviews about it and I don't think it looks that good anyway.

12. Tower of Terror, Tokyo DisneySea - Sub-Zero
The other Tower of Terrors are fantastic and this one looks the prettiest of the lot.

13. Knott's Berry Farm - Seriously Un-Cool
Worst park I've been to. Dirty, staff are rude, tacky, crap rides. if it weren't for Xcelerator and the Screamin' Swing, I'd never even think about going back.

14. X:\No Way Out, Thorpe Park - Un-Cool
Eurgh, at least it's better than Stealth. :wink:

15. Fuji Q - Cool
The rides look fab, I've heard bad things but I won't be quick to slate it until I actually visit it.

16. The Claw, Dreamworld Australia - Cool
Maelstrom's pretty good, so I reckon I'd like this too.

17. Alpengeist, Busch Gardens Europ - Sub-Zero
My number 1.

18. Six Flags Mexico - Un-Cool
Doesn't really stand out to me, plus it's in Mexico which I'm not in a hurry to travel to.

19. Sky Swing, Beijing Amusement Park - Cool
Has the word 'swing' in it.

20. King's Dominion - Un-Cool
Looks pretty average and the atmosphere looks lacking. Also has a terrible radio advert.

21. Submission, Alton Towers - Seriously Un-Cool
Absolutely terrible.

22. Tusenfryd - Cool
Looks like a charming park with some decent rides. Also has a swing ride.

23. Anaconda, Gold Reef City - Sub-Zero
Always been interested with this ride. Looks decently themed and looks like a lot of fun.

24. Bling, Blackpool - Cool
Didn't spin too much and I quite liked it.

25. Steel Hawg, Indiana Beach - Cool
Looks like a lot of fun, also made by S&S.

Rach, this is a great idea! Only thing I would say is that you, or someone nominated by you should have the final say. Having a democratic Cool Wall will not work, because not many cool people like amusement rides, so there will be some piss poor answers from people who don't know jack.

I'm gonna have a go straight away:

1 - Toverland - Cool. Has lots of stuff you can injure yourself on, and from all accounts a great wooden coaster.
2 - Blue Fire - Europa Park - Sub Zero. For one it's at Europa Park, and two it's themed to Iceland, one of the coolest countries out there (pun not intended, I'd love to live there). And it still has its heartline roll.
3 - SkyHawk - Cedar Point - Uncool - S&S Screamin Swings are great, but not when Cedar Point get one which is bigger than everyone else's so they can add to their goony list of records. It's the biggest, whoopie bleedin' do. Who really gives a ****?
4 - Six Flags Magic Mountain Cool - For saving X from the scrapheap by adding red paint, music and FIRE. And for being saved from becoming real estate in the first place.
5 - Apocalypse - Drayton Manor Uncool. If this were anywhere else but Drayton ****ing Manor, it would be cool. Awesome ride at a terrible park.
6 - Die Glocke - Hansa Park Cool. Not quite sub-zero, but it's really weird and has fire effects.
7 - Kieppi - Linnanmaki - Sub-Zero. It tries to render you unconscious on every ride, and getting closer to death is very cool.
8 - Carowinds - Uncool. Cedar Fair parks are automatically uncool.
9 - Fluch Von Novgorod - Hansa Park - Cool. Not quite sub-zero because it's not finished yet, but having a maze and a scary man in a cloak after you get off is genius.
10 - Dragon's Claw - Adventure Island - Uncool. Will try to hurt you, but not in a good way. Plus you have to travel to Southend to get to it.
11 - Raging Bull - Six Flags Great America - Cool. Not an amazing ride, but if you namecheck a great Robert De Niro film, that's cool enough for me.
12 - Tower of Terror - Tokyo DisneySea - Sub-Zero. Partly for having a amazing storyline, but mostly for being in the best theme park in the world.
13 - Knotts Berry Farm - Seriously uncool. Park has been ruined since Cedar Fair took it over. Now has a ****e B&M Invert, and lots of concrete. Not even a fat woman falling out of Perilous Plunge can save this place from going at the bottom of the wall. But worst of all, it's full of people who look like they're on welfare.
14 - X:/ No Way Out - Thorpe Park - Cool - for being completely ****ing pointless.
15 - Fuji Q - Seriously uncool. The worst park I've ever been to. I can't think of one good thing to say about this place.
16 - The Claw - Dreamworld Australia - Cool - made by Intamin. Intamin = fun times.
17 - Alpengeist - Busch Gardens Europe - Cool - mostly for being big. Not Sub-Zero because of that fat CoasterDan twat riding it 1000 times on that travel program from years ago.
18 - Six Flags Mexico - Sub-Zero. This place has swine flu, so if you're brave enough to go, good luck to you.
19 - Sky Swing - Beijing Amusement Park Cool - this ride has a knock-off Transformer at the front of it.
20 - Kings Dominion - Seriously uncool. Apparently the management think their park is better than Disney World. **** off.
21 - Submission - Alton Towers - Uncool. For looking ****e.
22 - Tusenfryd - Cool. Not Sub-Zero because the park ruined Thundercoaster, but you can throw water bombs off the new giant spinning thing and the staff don't give a ****.
23 - Anaconda - Gold Reef City - Sub-Zero. Because if you go to South Africa, there's a fair chance that you will get mugged, raped, carjacked or murdered. If you want the credit that badly, again I wish you good luck!
24 - Bling - Pleasure Beach Blackpool - Cool - for promoting Chav Culture at a chavvy seaside park. It's good to be a twat.
25 - Steel Hawg - Indiana Beach - Cool. Opened late, so ACE couldn't ride it on their buffet trip with roller coasters on the side. LOL.

The ratio of alright people to weirdos on any coaster messageboard is always in favour of the weirdos. I'd say that CF has more cool people than uncool people per say than all the other forums, but the fact still remains.

1 - Toverland
Cool - Troy looks like a decent woodie, and I've always had a soft spot for the booster bike coasters. I also like the way the majority of the park is indoors.

2 - Blue Fire - Europa Park
Seriously Uncool - Because I'm pretty sure that Jezza and the gang work the cool wall so that the coolest cars (Or coasters in this case) are uncool?

3 - SkyHawk - Cedar Point
Cool - It looks massive, which can only be a good thing with this type of ride as far as I'm concered.

4 - Six Flags Magic Mountain
Sub Zero - I remember the RCT2 Scenario of this park, and ever since I first started playing RCT2, this has always been one of the parks I'd love to visit. A good selection of rides, with an ever growing collection of coasters.

5 - Apocalypse - Drayton Manor
DB9 Fridge/Sub Zero - One of the best rides in Britain.

6 - Die Glocke - Hansa Park
Uncool - It has a bell end.

7 - Kieppi - Linnanmaki
Cool - Because it looks pretty decent.

8 - Carowinds
Seriously Uncool - Just a park that makes me go ew.

9 - Fluch Von Novgorod - Hansa Park
Cool - Looks like a decent enough ride, but the disappointed reviews don't say much.

10 - Dragon's Claw - Adventure Island
Uncool - Looks seriously weird.

11 - Raging Bull - Six Flags Great America
Seriously Uncool - Too many bad reviews.

Sub Zero - The theming is immaculate. Not just on this one ride. The whole park should be in Sub Zero <3

I'll include some reasons aswell..

1 - Toverland - Cool
Looks like a very good park, with some intresting indoor rides, and of course, Troy.
2 - Blue Fire - Europa Park
Sub Zero - Excellent use of rocks and terrain and it has a pretty good layout.
3 - SkyHawk - Cedar Point - Cool
I loved the other two Screamin' Swings, and this one should be pretty intense with the height.
4 - Six Flags Magic Mountain - Cool
Haven't been there, but it deserves a Cool spot because of Tatsu alone, there are many other rides there that are quite unique (Batman excluded).
5 - Apocalypse - Drayton Manor - Cool
Its one of the only intamin drop towers I've done and it was quite fun, if it wasn't so harsh on my gentleman's area in the standup seats I'd rate it higher
6 - Die Glocke - Hansa Park - Uncool
It has some nice forces, but the capacity is absolutely DIRE, and it is has hell of alot of structure and themeing (I.e the bell) just to spin 6 riders.
7 - Kieppi - Linnanmaki - Uncool
Flatrides of this kind just look clumsy while operating.
8 - Carowinds - Uncool -
Haven't heard many good things about it and since everyone hates Cedar Fair I'll jump on the bandwagon too.
9 - Fluch Von Novgorod - Hansa Park - Cool/Sub Zero -
The ride has so much potential, when it is finished it will be amazing, the layout is good, the drop in the dark is epic the second launch is a bit pointless though.
10 - Dragon's Claw - Adventure Island - Uncool
Why not.
11 - Raging Bull - Six Flags Great America - Uncool
B&M Hyper = No Airtime
12 - Tower of Terror - Tokyo DisneySea - Cool
Never been on any tower of terror rides, but they all look well done.
13 - Knotts Berry Farm - Uncool
Despite having Perilous Plunge, the rest of the park does look a bit meh.
14 - X:/ No Way Out - Thorpe Park
Uncool - I do like the ride, but its failed attempt at theming and smell of vomit make it uncool.
15 - Fuji Q - Cool
Volcano, No further explaination is needed.
16 - The Claw - Dreamworld Australia
Cool - Intamin Gyro Swings are awesome.
17 - Alpengeist - Busch Gardens Europe -Sub Zero
Apparently one of the best B&M inverts around, the first drop is good enough to make it cool, the rest of the layout makes it worth more.
18 - Six Flags Mexico
Uncool, haven't heard of anything in this park, so it can't be that special.
19 - Sky Swing - Beijing Amusement Park - Cool
Don't know what it is but I'm assuming another screamin' swing?
20 - Kings Dominion - Uncool
Nothing special here, and Hypersonic is epic, but it fails.
21 - Submission - Alton Towers - Seriously Uncool

Speed Monster, Thundercoaster, Scandinavia. Need I say more?

Its trying to be a B&M, but its not. It does have a fair bit of force too.

Toverland - Sub Zero, somewhere I've always wanted to go and finally am this year! Troy <3
Blue Fire - Europa Park- Sub Zero, looks absolutely amazing and looks very similar to a lot of my favourite style of rides
SkyHawk - Cedar Point- Cool, because I like S&S Giant Swings and have no reason to believe this is any different to Rush, many my beg to differ with me it seems however...
Six Flags Magic Mountain- Sub Zero, another life-long awaited destination, I will make it there someday!
Apocalypse - Drayton Manor- Uncool, drop towers are NOT a fun game despite what most CFers may argue
Die Glocke - Hansa Park - Cool, a little bit weird, fun ride but stupidly low capacity
Kieppi - Linnanmaki - Uncool, similar to drop towers, spinny things are NOT a fun game
Carowinds - Cool I guess there doesn't seem to be anything of particular merit here but American parks are always highly regarded
Fluch Von Novgorod - Hansa Park - Sub-Zero, this thing is going to need a new category once it's fully themed because it's already absolutely amazing!
Dragon's Claw - Adventure Island - Cool, fun I guess if you like being held upside down for extended periods of time
Raging Bull - Six Flags Great America- Due to popular belief on CF, I have been led to believe that this coaster is uncool.
Tower of Terror - Tokyo DisneySea - Sub-Zero, because Tokyo DisneySea looks awesome and ToT is one of my favourite rides
Knotts Berry Farm - Cool, just for being cool
X:/ No Way Out - Thorpe Park - Seriously uncool, ridiculous, headache inducing piece of **** death trap
Fuji Q - Uncool, looks like Thorpe on a bad day but ten times worse
The Claw - Dreamworld Australia - Sub-Zero, because Gyro Swings are AMAZING
Alpengeist - Busch Gardens Europe - Sub zero, could there be a more fitting category?
Six Flags Mexico - Cool, because it's probably a cool place I guess
Sky Swing - Beijing Amusement Park - Uncool, looks like a torture device
Kings Dominion- Sub zero, looks ten shade of awesome, I want to live there
Submission - Alton Towers - Uncool, because the other side never ****ing works!
Tusenfryd - Uncool because the trip there this year is over my birthday so I can't go
Anaconda - Gold Reef City - Cool, because it's the most well-known coaster in Africa!
Bling - Pleasure Beach Blackpool - Cool, lots and lots of fun
Steel Hawg - Indiana Beach - Cool, looks like a wild mouse only better

 

[Stone Cold]

1 - Toverland Cool - A small park punching above its weight, OK in my book.
2 - Blue Fire - Europa Park Uncool, firstly, Mack have built it, and secondly Europa Park is over-rated.
3 - SkyHawk - Cedar Point Cool. Swings on Steriods are cool.
4 - Six Flags Magic Mountain Uncool. A lot of nearly rides.
5 - Apocalypse - Drayton Manor Cool. Only because nothing in Drayton Manor can be Sub-Zero.
6 - Die Glocke - Hansa Park Sub Zero. Because extravagant Folly is what separates us from the humans. A pendulum ride that seats six with more themeing than Saw - genius!
7 - Kieppi - Linnanmaki Seriously Uncool. Never heard of it, thus Seriously Uncool.
8 - Carowinds Uncool. Silly name, I'm being judgemental.
9 - Fluch Von Novgorod - Hansa Park Uncool. Yes the ride is excellent, right up until that final braking section, but that's just unforgivably crap.
10 - Dragon's Claw - Adventure Island Uncool. It's in Essex. QED.
11 - Raging Bull - Six Flags Great America Cool. I'm a B&M fanboy, but it doesn't get a sub-zero because Jake la Motta is a tool.
12 - Tower of Terror - Tokyo DisneySea Sub Zero. Tower of Terror is an amazing ride, and the Tokyo version looks incredible.
13 Knotts Berry Farm Cool. If they have a Schwarzkopf coaster, they're cool.
14 - X:/ No Way Out - Thorpe Park Seriously Uncool. It's just awful and needs to go. It could be replaced by Black Hole, a Wild Mouse or an indoor pool of acid that you have to swim across after having been given 1000 open wounds with a rusty knife. Any of these attractions would be an improvement.
15 - Fuji Q Sub Zero. It's an extravagant folly thing again. Dodonpa and Eejanaika especially are just excessive. Brilliant.
16 - The Claw - Dreamworld Australia Uncool. I'm without opinion on this ride, and that's uncool of itself.
17 - Alpengeist - Busch Gardens Europe Sub Zero. The largest version of the best coaster type out there, you know it's going to be Epic.
18 - Six Flags Mexico Uncool. It's Six Flags after all.
19 - Sky Swing - Beijing Amusement Park Cool. The chinese are going to dominate the economy soon, and someone might be reading this
20 - Kings Dominion Cool. But only because of Volcano: The Blast Coaster.
21 - Submission - Alton Towers Seriously Uncool. It's submission. Need I say more?
22 - Tusenfryd Seriously Uncool. Escalators Loathe.
23 - Anaconda - Gold Reef City Sub Zero. Epic helices will make this ride awesome.
24 - Bling - Pleasure Beach Blackpool Uncool. The ride is great the name is a big misfire for Blackpool.
25 - Steel Hawg - Indiana Beach Uncool. It's been usurped by a bigger model in Flamingoland unfortunately.
