The act of giving out cards.

Hate them.

I probably buy like, 2 a year, and only because I have to. I always get bullied into getting one for Mothers day and also her birthday. That's pretty much it.

Some people are just OBSESSED with sending them and I can't understand why. My brother got engaged recently (don't even get me started on the CREATURE he's marrying), so they obviously got some cards for that, but a couple of people went as far as sending ANOTHER card thanking them for the invitation to the engagement party. Who does that?! They'll blates give them another one at the actual party too, losers.

I just find the whole thing a waste of time and money. Unless you get one custom made (which doesn't seem to happen as much as it used to since the novelty of Moonpig etc wore off) they're either too soppy, tacky or just generally cringe. Whenever I have to buy one I stand there for ages just dying inside at having to choose one just because it isn't as crap as all the others.

It's so bad for the environment too. I know loads get recycled, but it's still a waste of resources.

Yeah, I've got a proper vendetta against cards. Don't expect one from me... ever!

Cards are vile.
I too get bullied on Mothers day and her Birthday, but also on all the girlfriend dates. such as our anniversary, Valentines day (don`t even get me started on that) and her birthday.

Other than those instances, there is no way, I work with about 70 middle-aged women and at Christmas I acquire a ridiculous amount of cards, even after 10 years of never giving them back I still receive them.

I do store-bought cards for little things, but some things require my fluent writing prowess to be put to the test.

Not like I can't crank out something poetically gorgeous in under a half an hour.

Madame_Furie reminded me the other day that we used to send the same birthday card to each other every year with the name crossed out and the other's put in (this is back a long time before we were together).

I think we managed about four years passing the same card back and fourth until there wasn't enough room anymore :lol:
