On Friday night, Darren picked me up and we heading to Richard's to stay the night. After around two hours sleep, we left for Southend airport!

After we parked the car and Billy Connolly had driven us to the airport! It was time to meet up with Jordan, Connor, NSH Jordan, Serena, Sue and Mike! Later we would meet up with Nic at Barcelona airport!

The flight to Barcelona was normal and we then picked up the hire cars and headed to Tibidabo!

We learned how bad roads are in Barcelona! One roundabout had four sets of traffic lights!

The view was foggy!

Do you put your plastic ducks in this bin!!

First up we rode this fab plane ride!

It had a toilet:

View of the cred!:

Next up we did the most terrifying ride I've ever seen:
10408982_10201966319518335_8425648218579351439_n.jpg

Or bucket on a stick to us goons!

10734164_10201966328238553_3754033097563406970_n.jpg

It was both terrifying and hilarious! The ride didn't seem at all safe but was a great laugh! At one point the bucket stopped suddenly creating some panic!!

Next we went in search of the first cred:

It was good for what it was. I sat front row with Darren. The first drop was decent but there wasn't any airtime.

We then went in search of the second cred. Spite, it was closed until the end of the season.

Next up we did the fun house thing. It was very dirty inside, just like the rest of the park, and we all came out with brown hands:
10599485_10201966321078374_88544715414276129_n.jpg

It was very random inside!!

Next up we rode a suspended monorail/dark ride, which was awesome!
10322616_10201966321358381_6657955257110753721_n.jpg

The ride featured a wizard with no head and lots of random things! At one point a scare actor jumped out and gave Serena a bit of a fright!

Some of the group did a horror walk through, while others including myself decided to the ride the dogdems instead. They were very bad!

Some of us then went into the sweet shop and discovered savoury pick and mix:
10371405_10201966321718390_2032362810611317388_n.jpg

Then it was lunch:
10384810_10201966322758416_4333150426172755158_n.jpg

Then we took in the views as the fog had lifted a bit:

Then went into a fab little museum bit:
10427330_10201966326958521_4474483367674026611_n.jpg

Overall the park was very weird and random! I'll leave you with:

Next up PA.

Time did you land in Barcelona? We flew back Friday evening as I monged out and didn't think to check Tibidabo's opening times and didn't realise they'd be open on the Saturday which meant I also missed the Barca match I wanted to go watch :(

Landed at around 9-10 am local time I think.

Good report Dan. Glad you all had a good time.

I thought I would post an image of 'Coaster Force One' on its way back from Spain.

Nice report! Tibidabo has always seemed like one of these quirky Spanish parks with some unique rides. And it's setting seems just amazing being up there overlooking Barcelona. I love it, deffo a bucket list park for me! Shame you've missed the powered coaster, but otherwise it seems you had a great time.

PA:

My first major European park outside the UK! I am going to combine the two days spent here and go through ride by ride.

We arrived, checked in and sorted out a few hotel issues. Then we headed into the park! We started on Baco:
10363692_10201966328918570_1348417357248049873_n.jpg

67348_10201966328798567_5792251262592439335_n.jpg

I really enjoyed Baco! The pre show was awesome and weird and the launch was just fantastic! Baco will slot into my top ten or top twenty somewhere.
10362371_10201966335998747_6083542181524179681_n.jpg

With Sergio from PAC

Next up we did Tami- Tami. Just a +1.

Then we did Dragon Khan. I was disappointed by Dragon Khan. It was quite rough for a B&M and I didn't think it was particularly intense compared to Kumba. We had quite a few rides on Dragon Khan over the weekend. I liked how while upside-down you can see Shambhala!

Speaking of Shambhala, that was the next coaster we did. My new number two! Loads of airtime and a fantastic drop. My first ride was back row, I also rode in the middle. I begged the ride op to allow Sue and I to ride front and after a while he agreed! At the front it was awesome!

10801614_10201966336358756_1130290964392156038_n.jpg

Stampida. First we rode the blue side. It was horrific! Certainly the second worst coaster that I have ever ridden. It is just so brutal. On the Sunday we rode the red side and it was CF v PAC. Red v Blue. Goon V Goon. Sadly PAC won although Richard beat PAC out of the station and claimed victory! There was a lot of Puns & roses in the queue! The red side was a slight improvement from the blue side.

After the park had closed we had dinner:
10599712_10201966331118625_5031543412523529051_n.jpg

A tasty buffet!

Some beers:
10414908_10201966330918620_2903883794588240208_n.jpg

And then some entertainment:
1959233_10201966331478634_7779392233010477788_n.jpg

There was another celebrity look alike as Richard and Darren got a bar queue jumping Simon Le Bon to move!
The entertainment ended with a Spanish man wearing incredibly tight trousers singing 'Talk Dirty To Me' to small children.

The rides from day 2:

10417787_10201966333518685_4581246384714406115_n.jpg

With Captain Richard in charge, some of us took on a child with their mum and a group of Spanish people on an epic splash battle!

Angkor is very well themed and great fun!
535944_10201966333198677_3045811985925661616_n.jpg

El Diablo. I sat at the front with Nic:
10405358_10201966334038698_2016433859300796295_n.jpg

My first ever Arrow Mine Train!
The ride was poor but hilarious. Nic and I led chants of "one lift hill", "two lift hills" and "three lift hills"! The ride is literally a lift hills then a corner and then a tunnel!

10340178_10201966334598712_906022635072857910_n.jpg

Another vile woodie! Not as bad as Stampida, thankfully. The first corner caught me out though, as I smashed my leg on the side!

10644434_10201966334318705_5167705507939745657_n.jpg

A few of us rode this weird thing! It was so ****! But hilarious! The ride featured the laziest ride op of all time!

10363533_10201966335318730_222170587194353669_n.jpg

Hurakan Condor. I rode stand up floor less with Nic. It was good! I enjoyed the tilt at the top. The braking causes moderate discomfort.

I don't think I've missed anything from the park! I also hope that this isn't too confusing!

We then headed to the airport and after a bit of faff and some help from the Spanish security or police we all made it through security!

The flight back was eventful! Some cretin children sung happy birthday and there was a proposal, on an Easyjet flight. How romantic.

Sadly Billy Connolly wasn't the taxi driver this time.

It was a great weekend! Thank you to everyone who came and made it great! Shoutout to Darren and Richard for driving and everyone who helped with the planning!

I'll leave you with:

Nice report! I'm so jealous :p . Portaventura and Shambhala are #1 on my park/coaster wishlist at the moment. So desperate to go but I can't convince anyone to join me. It looks so awesome. Shambhala + Dragon Khan together and intertwined is coaster art <3

There isn't a separate front row queue for Shambhala though? That would really suck, because Silver Star was so much better in the front.

Too bad Dragon Khan has gotten so rough. It still looks like a wonderful coaster.

Really curious if I'll enjoy Baco (I love launches). Seems like a real love/hate coaster.

Oh, and the Tibidabo Vekoma looks so fun!

You are meant to spend €5 on front row ticket.
Baco is awesome! It has so much power in the launch and it doesn't let up!

Are you kidding?? That's so awful. Is it sad that I'd still do that at least once though? :p . I'd forget about the €5 in a moment, but probably never forget the experience of a front row ride on that beauty.

If the park is quiet and if you are good at begging you might be able to manage front, that is how we did it. The ride op wasn't over the moon about letting us but he was persuaded easily enough.

Give begging a go! A few of us on the trip tried it and I'm fairly sure it worked every time. All I said was "We are all the way from England, can we please ride at the front?". When the op said no I just continued saying stuff like "please, just this once, one time" .

Yeah, I guess I could say that I came here all the way from the Netherlands just to ride Shambhala. I could try saying it in Spanish, I'm sure they'd be more charmed about that then  . Though at the moment I'm more worried about actually getting to the park.

Is that €5 like a fast pass though? I'm assuming that there isn't much of a queue even on relatively crowded days if you have to pay for it. Still lame that they use the front row for that, especially on quiet days.

I think the ops love the accents!

Yeah it's pretty much a fast pass but just for front row. I think it's called express gold.

PA are such money-grabbers. They pulled this Express Gold Pass, which is an add-on to the regular Express-Pass that already costs 45 euros. This 5 extra euros let you ride on the first row of the park's three signature coasters once: Shambhala, Dragon Khan and Baco. Needless to say, I am way angry about this; once you have paid for your entrance ticket, you should be let on whichever row you want to ride...
