Recently-formed Skyline Attractions announced today Strike-U-Up, the first of many GamesURide. Grab a friend and race skyward against as many as seven other teams in the bouncy fun of Strike-U-Up! Test your skills... Strike the target that will send your friend bouncing to the top of the 20-foot tower. Reach the top first to win the game, then switch with your friend and do it again!

Skyline previewed the Strike-U-Up concept with many industry insiders, and the team has been overwhelmed by the positive response. They said, "We knew we were onto something really big with the GamesURide idea, but the feedback we've been getting is beyond what we anticipated. I really dont see the point of this at all. Plus, if this is coming to any park soon, will they be housing a security guard and attendant to make sure none of the mindless **** called teenagers do anything stupid with this.

^It will be interesting. There is essentially one games company in the US (world?) right now, and that's Bob's Space Racers.

^^I'd imagine it would operate like any other game on the hundreds of midways in the country, where you pay a fee to participate and there is an attendant manning the game.

This is great for family or friends wanting to compete against each other for a bit of fun, this is a great idea, you need to realise this isn't a ride it's just a sideshow game.

In case anyone cares, Skyline has a Strike-U-Up currently running at Fun Spot America (ex-USA) park on 192 in Florida. Rode it twice tonight in both modes and also played it in both modes.
It can be run in a 2 player "race to the top" mode... Where each player hits with the hammer when the "strike" light turns on.... I won my round hitting my friend to the top (in short bursts) he lost while hitting me. If you "win" on the way down the seat bounces 2 or 3 times... kinda like a Frog Hopper. The loser side just comes down semi-slowly. The second mode, 1 player, is more like the traditional game play. You strike with the hammer and the seat moves up as high as you "powered" it.... Again, if the seat reaches the top you get to bounce back down vs. the just slow return back. It looked pretty stupid/lame to see... But it ends up being pretty fun and if a park were to add one with 3 or 4 towers, it could be pretty cool (maybe?)
