Six Flags Qiddiya | Saudi Arabia | Theme Park

Expensive, and for what gain other than us capacity enthusiasts, but if I was Intamin I'd have put a few extra block sections between an unload station and load station that can be used for train cooling.

Though I do wonder how much the capacity 'issues' will settle down after the initial hype rush. Would be interesting to see how things look in a few months.

Interesting video addressing the problems with Falcon. In short, due to the lack of block sections and need for trains to cool off after each run in the station (of which only 3 are currently running), the ride is operating at around 300-400pph.

Do we have a sense of what the cooling solution is? Forget if we’ve gotten a look at it at all - would assume it’s sprayed water in the station?

Interestingly, they seem to have removed the GoFast Pass from the website now - every single day which is available to book on the calendar shows no availability for the pass... I wonder if that's a temporary glitch, or if it's a deliberate change for the time being.

Currently it seems to be open for employees, the guy at the gate said they're hoping to open it for guests later.

-Edit-
It seems to have soft opened, but only two of the sides. I should be in the next group to ride

Sirocco tower just soft opened! And I rode it.

Only running two sides so expect long lines with quite a long cycle and only 16 people per cycle.

And it was underwhelming

The launch is fun, but is more like a sustained push rather than a big blast off. It's kind of similar to mystery castle.

The drop was really disappointing, it's slow and doesn't feel like a proper free fall, more like you're slowly sliding down and there's no airtime.

Maybe it's still being tweaked? I sure hope so

I know another guy there today who mentioned it was like a Frog Hopper but really tall. Forces are the same, had nothing nice to say about it.

The S&S Tower at Nick Universe in NJ is the same way. I fear this one might be a legitimate dud.

What have the operations/queues been like on the whole?
On wednesday it was awful, 60+ min posted time for most of the coasters and often longer than that. Operations were ok, apart from colossus, the queue line of which just about broke me. 3.5-5 minute dispatches seemed to be the norm and they kept fast pass a walk on despite a massive standby queue.

On Thursday and Friday however, the park was very quiet, and every coaster apart from Falcons flight was walk on. The park has cheaper tickets Monday - Wednesday which I think has caused everyone to avoid the other days. Sirocco opened part way through the day, but was not being operated very quickly, and only 2 sides were operational, so unless you can get in the queue for it just as it opens, which I was lucky enough to do, then probably give it a miss.

This is the first "normal" vlog i've seen of the park and it's basically my worst fears realised:

- Atrocious levels of queue jumping including staff encouragement
- Queue times horribly inaccurate (massively underestimated and only viewable at ride entrance)
- Abysmal ops and availability

The world's best rides at the world's worst theme park.
