Six Flags Qiddiya | Saudi Arabia | Theme Park

Ah that was the Thursday one. We got on just before that. They can do 2 relaunch attempts before having to evac. But the wind is definitely higher in the winter, so this is definitely not unexpected.

Definitely still a lot of teething problems on the trains too. Most I saw was 3 trains which meant the regular queue was often displayed at 150 or so. I fully expect the unlimited fastpass to become a single shot on Falcons soon to help this.

I do wonder if the ride is capable of valleying on any of the elements at the top of the cliff, I know they're all very small and it's designed to make it round if it manages to pass the tallest part. But some strong winds might make it happen, do the operators have to take a bus up to the top to perform an evac? lol

I pray we never had to find out, but not the first time we'd find an Intamin stalling in a difficult to reach spot. :P

Super interesting to see the launch reset. I guess I'm not surprised the second launch lift isn't a swing launch, but sobering to think the ride is designed to do the launch from a cold start, not just a running start!

.... do the operators have to take a bus up to the top to perform an evac? lol

The park's VP of Operations spoke about that a while back;

....FF does not have a block on top of the cliff (just a trim to pause it before the drop) because if the train stopped in a block there and they had to evacuate it, it's a 20+min drive through Riyadh suburbs to get from the park to the clifftop 🤣

Heading out next week... Hoping to have some luck with uptime, seen it's slowly been opening less and less...Anyone been and know how reliability been in general?

Saw someone on Twitter saying it only opened sporadically yesterday, and whenever it did open, the queue would immediately jump to 180 mins.

I'm going next weekend... never had cred anxiety so bad 😅

You and me both haha been trying to find as much intel as possible. Just going to camp out there all day on my first day and just hope to get as many as possible, going on a Sunday and Monday so hoping queues will be much more manageable….

There's a review here from Sunday and Monday and it's not good reading .

Falcon Flight on 235min queue, when it was open, which was not often.

Lots of other rides closed.

Lots of queue jumping.

Atrocious ops.

This is what I fear . Was hoping with all the investment they’d make sure ops were top notch. But if it’s anything like the UAE parks it’s not going to be a fun time

"3-4 hour queue for a brand new world's tallest, fastest roller coaster, and uptime is rough"; this is not the first time that statement has been true. 😜

It is a Six Flags park after all!

Does seem like they had a lower capacity for the opening few days with all the influencers and did everything in their power to have things operating but that's not going to be a reflection of the typical experience.

Did seem like opening day went super smoothly and operations/uptime have gone downhill from there

It's worth noting on capacity, this roller coaster is still a 14-person-per-train capacity, essentially a glorified 3-car train (only 2 more than Intamin Blitz coasters like Maverick or Fahrenheit). Theoretically the capacity could be upwards of 1,600 PPH (Maverick is 1,200 PPH); but realistically I'd wager we're talking hundreds of riders, unless SFQ can properly nail dual train loading operations. Other 300, 400 ft. coasters of note typically hover 1,300 and 1,400 PPH in capacity (KK, MF, TT2, etc.); likewise slower ops or down-a-train operation can quickly tank throughput (pretty sure TT2 was often clocked around 800 PPH last season as they grappled with mid-season operation).

Useful info for anyone buying park tickets –

If you’d like a GoFast Pass to skip the queues, it must be purchased at the same time as your park tickets. It cannot currently be added on later!

After reading about the queue times and operations, I'm very relieved that I purchased GoFast Pass for both days of my visit next week.

Bollocks. Didn't know that.

Interesting video addressing the problems with Falcon. In short, due to the lack of block sections and need for trains to cool off after each run in the station (of which only 3 are currently running), the ride is operating at around 300-400pph.
