Six Flags Over Texas | Tormenta | B&M Dive Coaster | 2026

Dear lord. I can't with how sensitive people are.. like how they pitched to take the ring out of the cow character's nose in MarioKart World. Ffs - as a previous game developer, I can assure you there is no harm being done to animals. Get a hobby. LOL.

The coaster looks amazing, though... and "Tormenta" does have a menacing, short-and-sweet ring to it. 👍 Hopefully they'll just go eat some tofu, and calm the hell down. It's a friggin' rollercoaster, not a bull-fighting ring.
Wouldn't they also have to condemn El Toro and Raging Bull?

Friendly reminder coaster friends,
The big animals rights groups are not in the business of helping animals. They spend NONE of their money on that. It is all for show, to rake in the donations. So they have to make ridiculous accusations to spend their extra $$ so they don't have to report it at end of the year earnings. :0(
If you ever want to help animals, support your local shelter or recuse groups, NEVER donate to companies/national charities.
Now back to "will this have a rattle?" and "I don't care I am still gonna ride it!!!!" :0)

Looks slow...

They are running out of things to find offensive, coasters are the next target…

Wicker Man to be renamed to Wicker Them for the 2026 season 👍🏻
C'mon, we can laugh at PETA being complete wastes of space that bring nothing of value to the world, and who arguably work against their own goals by being so provocative and asinine, without taking cheap shots at an already marginalised community that's being attacked more and more everyday.

Yes, yes, I know, I'm a reactionary killjoy that can't take a joke just like them.

TormenPETA looks really fun though! Like someone else said, I'm surprised we haven't already seen a giga-looper. Although that might be B&M trying to keep the two products separate for some reason?

Being from that “marginalised” community myself, I give this coaster a pass. Just wish Dives were a bit more interesting..

The name thing is silly, I am a vegetarian and honestly roller coaster names don't really affect animals rights, I am more concerned with places like Tobu Zoo..

For the coaster, honestly it looks great! A Giga dive is awesome for OT, and I think as enthusiasts maybe we are bit of an ungrateful bunch. This is going to be an absolute monster of a coaster.

Haven't chimed in on reaction - what this coaster lacks in (honestly) uninspiring layout, it makes up for in spades on sheer height and imposing stature. A lot of casual park followers don't understand the difference between 300 ft. tall on flat ground versus an Orion with 300 ft. drop in a ditch.

Looking forward to riding, definitely curious to see what the additional height will add!

Is the height difference between the two really that significant though?

RCDB says Orion stands 287' above the ground, while Tormenta will stand 309' above the ground.

22' isn't nothing, but relating it back to when I lived in a condo on the 33rd floor of a 60 story skyscraper, one of the good friends I made in the building lived a few floors above me on the 36th floor. When I hung out on his 36th floor balcony, there really wasn't a substantive discernable perception difference in height above the ground compared to my balcony down on the 33rd floor.

Now, when I went up to the common area roof deck at the very top of the 60 story building, yeah, that was certainly noticably different.

Anyway, super-sized dive coaster looks super-fun (with the general caveat of how I'm not the biggest fan of how the hard-grabbing MCBRs kill the flow on most dive coasters).

Would you people say that this is a good fit for the park? It is a great addition for enthusiasts and probably a dream come true for some. For the general audiences though, I am not sure.
A 300 ft coaster is already intimidating in and of itself. To then hang above that beyond vertical dive drop? Even I would be seriously nervous riding this thing 😅 I am not sure if I would actually enjoy the experience or if it might be too much for me. And I like roller coasters! Looking at my friends and family, most people think Baron 1898 at Efteling is too scary 😬

While the drop would be incredible, the layout seems just fine to me. I feel like dive coasters lose their speed pretty quickly and the pacing does not seem to be that great. I feel like you could get a lot more coaster out of that 300 ft drop with a different model. But that drop though... That sure is something! Crazy stuff 🤩

Honestly I feel like dive coasters in general have meh layouts, I do think the sheer height of the elements might keep them interesting.

To be honest I'm not sure they could of got anything more out of a giga, Over Texas from memory is very much landlocked, so a space for a traditional giga would of been even impossible or very limited. This plot of land isn't really that big either, so I think that did limit the layout a bit.

For a middle-tiered Six Flags park, it's one hell of investment.

I think the positioning of the drop is the real star here. Very few gigas let you stand at the foot of the drop to appreciate the full height like this.

Add the gimmick of dangling trains over the edge, I think this is going to add a lot of energy to the front entrance.

Immelmans are probably my least favourite element, so otherwise this layout isn't for me. But a hugmongus vertical loop is always going to fun!

While it isn’t the most unique layout in the world, can we take a minute to appreciate the insane headchopper it has over the second drop! Plus the cutback framing the drop is exquisitely placed. It may not be unique but it is very well designed.

Something I really like show efficient it is with using space, as this is still a crazy small plot to build a giga. The huge lift hill, midcourse brake run, and final brake run are all located parallel and on top of one another. While almost every element is an inversion, they're going to be absolute insane ones at that.

In the meantime, the swinging ship has sailed;

But she was in the animation POV! 😢
Hopefully they will just get a new one!
