What's new

Six Flags New Additions for 2014

Goliath looks fantastic. I really wish I had a relative that lived within 8 hours of that place. Magic Mountain is pushing hard for 20. I wouldn't be surprised to see them add a cred in 15 as well to get there.

The Lex Luthor drop tower is tons of fun, I imagine this one will be as well.

Goliath looks quite fab. The start in particular, but we'll have to wait until next year to see how successful those weird inversions are. Here's hoping it turns out quite good as there is a slight chance I might be over that way next year. :)

I'm not quite sure why SFGAdv need to remove Rolling Thunder. From memory and from looking at satellite views, there is plenty of room in the middle of KK and around the edge to get paths/queue lines in, especially given that this thing won't require much footprint. I guess they're just using it as an excuse to remove an older, less popular ride.

I generally find that tall drop towers are no where near as good as the smaller ones, but the sheer height of this thing should hopefully make worth a ride or two!

I don't understand the addition of a waterpark at SFOG. As my home park, they already have a fantastic waterpark in White Water because of the scenery alone. Why the hell would they do that??? So many better things to do with SFOG in my opinion. Not to mention, where they are putting the water park, is some amazing real estate for a top of the line coaster.

why cant they just add a stinkin coaster at great escape and la ronde...they both need a big new one desperatly! and all they got was flat rides! -__- (sigh) hopefully next year.

I love the SFMM additions. They needed to expand Bugs Bunny World desperately. The real question for Colossus is will it race? Or just one side?

Zumanjaro drop tower looks great, but comes at the cost of Rolling Thunder, which will close to the public on September 8.

That's not a loss.

I'm not over-whelmed by Goliath, I wish they'd stop making steel coasters with wooden supports. Why bother? It's a drop, two inversions, a hill and a couple of overbanks. Whoop. So over those rides.

The drop tower is the fabbest of the announcements, because it's not just sing-a-long Six Flags adding another new "woodie".

I'm liking everything. Goliath looks really awesome but couldn't they think of an more original name. Other than that, great stuff.

Yeah there is far too many Goliath. I already have one Goliath in my top 10, if this went into it would really piss off my minor OCD :)

How is actually RMC's relation with Gerstlauer?
Gerstauer was checking the restraints on their hybrid coasters when the texas giant incident happened. thats the only relationship i know of them.

Rolling Thunder had rotting issues and the maintenance costs were probably not to Great Adventure's liking. Part of the RT space will apparently be used as an exhibit for Great Adventure's Baboons, which weren't included in the Safari Adventure ride this year. RT also opens up a **** of space for expansion between both the Golden Kingdom and Plaza Del Carnivale, and definitely offers a lot of potential in its backspace for the future.

And I see them doing something more akin to the Banshee isntallation at Kings Island. Use up a portion of the land but leave a large enough of a clearing next to it to make us question if they would ever use it as possible expansion years on down the toad.

How far is White Water from SFoG?

To me this smells like they plan on closing White Water and selling it off.
