Minced to these countries with Ben last week. I didn't take an actual camera so didn't take loads of pics (and some of them look like they were taken with a butternut squash), but heh.

We arrived in Belgrade, Serbia on Monday 6th. We were quite stuck for time so grabbed a taxi from the airport. It wasn't exactly cheap (£18 or something), but the same distance would have cost loads more here so whatevz.

In about 30mins we were at our fab central apartment. It was huge, and the guy who owns it was really sweet. He wasn't exactly gorge, but I still wanted to get into his pants.

The view left a lot to be desired though:

Once we'd dumped our stuff we headed out for a bit of culture. There was a church, and some other old building:

By this point the weather was starting to perk up, so we went for a couple of day drinks.

Once we were a little bit drunk, it was time to head over to the fort thing by the river.

Yeah, that's about it from Serbia.

That mixed grill thing looks delish. Shaped carrots really impress me.

Just because I know you'll get upset if there are no comments, Jakey...

It all looks pretty mega. I'm with Ian, that food looks ace.

I don't have much else to say, but I do like reading your stories and looking at your pics, so keep them coming!

The next day we'd booked a couple of seats on a minibus fom Belgrade into Bosnia (Sarajevo). It was supposed to turn up at 6am, so we got up at arse o'clock, but it didn't BOTHER arriving until 8. We were fuming.

After a few hours we were at the border

We eventually arrived in the capital and checked in to our apartment. The owner was this 50 year old artist woman, she was absolutely mental. Kinda fab though. She kept bullying us into giving her 10/10 on booking.com, and told us she'd given us a free upgrade when she blatently hadn't. No photos of the interior, but here's the view:

Ha, great trip report as always Jake. The photos of the mountains with that lake/river are beautiful. Sounds like you had a random time. Look forward to reading the next part.

Are you sure it wasn't Wales? Looks like Rhyl followed by Snowdonia to me :p

I don't have much to actually contribute, except to say that I'm enjoying the report and looking forward to seeing the rest!

Thanks for the commentz sexy people <3.

Croatia

It was quite fab getting a passport stamp for Croatia as they're joining the EU in July (meaning they'll stop stamping other EU passports), so excluse <3.

Once we got to the coast it was pretty, but after 7 hours on the coach we just wanted to get off and die to be fair:

The bus spitefully dropped us off at the ferry port, so we grabbed a taxi to the old town. It was a rip off.

Our room was in quite a fab locaysh - in the old town but a couple of streets back from the main drag so nice and quiet.

375036_10152842043985054_77379219_n.jpg

By this point it was about 3pm so we decided to pop out for a dip in the sea. Didn't bother taking our cameras or anything... so I'll just jump to the city walls which we did the following morning.

If you've seen Game of Thrones you might recognise some bits (it's obviously mostly CGI, but it was filmed here) from scenes in Kings Landing...

The walls offer some fab views of the old town as you can walk all the way around. Like most things in Dubrovnik it was overpriced and touristy, but you've got to do it really. It IS pretty...

I only took about 3 photos in Montenegro (and it's too dull to deserve it's own post) so it's getting shoved down here.

We did a minibus day trip from Dubrovnik into Montenego which visited two towns. Not gonna lie, only went for the country cred.

Some islands...

The two most interesting things we saw were this, a posh hotel which Diana stayed at a few years before the embarrasing steering-wheel-as-a-necklace incident...

and... a tortoise.

.

Bye bye Montenegro.

That's pretty much everything in a nutshell, to recap;

Belgrade, Sebia - Fab city, much nicer than I expected.

Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina - Again, loads better than I thought it would be. Also stunning scenery around it.

Dubrovnik, Croatia - You can't say it's not gorgeous, but it was kind of ruined by the hideous amount of cruise ship tourists (also resulting in it being expensive).

Montenego in general - bleugh.

Thanks for reading :).
